He does not need a stage 3 clutch with the mods he has. Stage 2 spec or ACT street disc is fine for what he has.

Kevin,

Both clutches work great. You won't have a problem with either one you choose

i have looked around and the beat price i can get the ACT for is from a shop here is $415 plus tax CND =$470 CND after taxes
it will take 3-4 days to come in
i will have to buy a bearing/slave from GM for $215 cnd plus tax or from a jobber for $160 cnd

TOTAL AROUND $675-$720 CND

the best price for a Spec is
$460-$500 plus tax CND =$530-$575 after taxes
it will come in around 1-3 weeks
i will not have to buy a bearing/slave becuase it comes with it

TOTAL AROUND $530-$575 CND

--------------------NOW THE QUESTION------------------

the spec comes with a bearing, i phone them they said that is comes with a OE bearing from whoever makes it for GM the guy said "fedarl mogal". What do you think the quailty of the bearing is???

The spec is quite a but cheaper, not sure about bearing, should i buy this one?

federal mogul(part of t.r.w.) is a good company... and yes they do make the o.e.m. bearings for g.m.... if it was my car i wouldnt think twice about going with the spec stage 2.... imo its a better clutch than the act.
also i have heard that the slave cylinder that comes with the spec is junk though.... from what ive heard you should use a o.e.m. g.m. slave cylinder if at all possible.
i am actually saving up right know for the spec stage 2 kit... Karo(carcustoms.net) has them for $414.00 with free shipping. thats the best price i have yet to find for the stage 2 spec.

hope it helps

I have a spec three and no problems with the bearing. If to do it over again i would either do ACT or SPEC which ever came out cheaper.

i have about 40k miles on my ACT street disc. At the time i asked around to other car people about this clutch and they havent heard anything bad about it.

It is a little tuff, but u will get used to it.
