Flex plate went bye bye

Well story is went to finally go pick up my car after three months of not driving my car between getting my cams from Canada then my lazy ass mechanic taken his sweet time to finish my install I go to pick up my car and the mechanic takes it out for a test drive to make sure everything is right and then boom my bad luck kicks in and this is the end result.

Now I know I'm pretty hard on my car but I didn't think I was that bad. So my question is what is you guys opinion on how this happened to my flex-plate. I kinda want an Idea so I know not to do it this time around on my new one since i don't have 450 in parts a labor to throw around fixing this again. Almost everything in my mods list wasn't on my car till last month except the header which was last June and CAI which was two years ago. so i 've driven the car since June 02 but I've put 40,000 miles on it since then. All opinions and input.

Damn. That is insane. I have not seen that happen to a flexplate before. I have seen flywheels do it on a manual...but not the autos.

huh...Dont know what to tell ya.

Thats what my mechanic said he'd never seen that before or heard of that happening on a low powered auto like that. Well any input on this would be great cause i wanna drive my car and have fun but not if this is ganna be the end result next time.

looks like something was putting pressure on inward on the plate causing that area to fail... something is definatly not right there as i cant see a 4cyl doing that too easy. could've just been an oddball bad flexplate also..
