I'm looking into replcaing my clutch with aftermarket. it's up to 185km on the stock clutch and finally starting to go. My question is that I want to replace it with something aftermarket instead of OEM but want a simmialr feeling to the clutch. I don't want a really grabby clutch but also don't want something that feels really vague. Can anybody suggest a clutch that fits this profile and give me a rough idea on cost in CAN$ ?

thats the only place i've found for aftermarket clutchs in canada, i'd go with spec II , although in cnd its $460 plus taxs and shipping. i checked around here in quebec and a stock clutch new not rebuild went from 400-600 over the counter. i just got mine today for 285..gotta love cost price...ne-waz i was going to go aftermarket but there was no point since i'm tossing this motor in a year or so and i what a alumi flywheel ..so i'll get it later on. right now my extra cash is going into suspension ..onestly if i were you i'd do the same, plus you only have a 2.2ohv stock..you don't need a aftermarket clutch thats going to cost you $200 on top of a stock clutch price
Those clutches all show for the 2.4L. Are they the same for both engines? Will it fit and work properly on the 2.2L? Also, since I've never bought a clutch before, do most of them come with the release bearing or do I need to by that seperate.I think that's wearing out too because I'm getting a rattling sound when the engine is under load or accelerating.
OK, I re-read the site and found 2.2L clutches, but the bearing question is still out there.
release bearings make noise when there applied not when there stationary...in other words when you press the clutch your makeing it work when your on the gas its sitting there like a log(not exacting but you get the point)..but a rattling sound under load usually is somethin stupid like a heat shield which is minor what you don't what to hear is humping sounds or even BOOM ..hehe..cause then your messed
but yes release bearing usually come with the clutch "kit"(Friction disc, Pressure plate, Hydraulic release bearing, and sometimes a clutch centering tool)

well do u have enough HP to handle an upgraded clutch if not its probably just a waste of money i got a ACT street clutch then sent it back and got just an excedy clutch kit on ebay for like 185 works great if you dont have major mods i wouldnt worry about the clutch
