New Stage I Performance Cluch Installed doubts
Friday, April 15, 2005 6:48 PM
this week I installed a new stage I performance clutch (with bronze pads) on my '96 Z24. I thank that the pedal became harder, but it's softer than before, and i thank that when I take off in 1st the car gonna slips more the wheels and feel harder, then in 2nd and 3rd gear too, but its normal. Is this Ok? or i must wait that the new clutch waste a little?

Thanks for the help

You should be easy on it for a while it is a self adjusting clutch, when they are new they feel soft but it will get stiffer after driving it a while. But you shouldnt be hammering a brand new clutch, try taking it easy for a bit.

very difficult to understand...but I think you just need to know to be easy on it for the first 500-1000 miles. No high rpm dumps. Just easy driving. Then you can get on it a bit more.
