Half shaft limits

Not sure if this is the best place to ask this, but what is the word about the limits of the stock half shafts? Like times or power wise. I've heard some say the stockers are better than the 300 horse driveshaftshop axles, and others say they are junk. Thanks.

I wouldn't buy the driveshaft shop axle. Normal one are cheap.

btw, I've seen axle on a Gtz go with only 200hp. Drag slick will kill the axle really fast.

It all depends on how you drive. I've seen a 2.3 turbo with 280hp with the oem axle.

There's no need to buy axles that are of "better" quality when the oem ones do the same things for cheaper.

So what are my options with around 300 to the wheels? Up until this year I ran on the stockers fine on spray, but that was only about 220 to the wheels. Wonderin if I might be best off to cryotreat a set of stockers.

always remember when you make something harder, you usually make it more brittle as well... just a property of metal.

i have seen stock axles last under lots of power.

killer quad and joe morgan ran like 12.0 and a little under on the stock stuff.

neither had "lots of power". it was moderate power with low weight.
