'99 auto on boost

my 99 2.4 auto will be boosted in about a month. how much torque can the 4 speed actually take before it starts to become a problem with slippage or something breaking? also is there anyway build up the tranny so it'll handle more power?

id be more worried about the engine than transmission. The transmission is a good solid trans. I would suggest you get a shift kit, a B&M shiftplus or a Autotrans interceptor. Otherwise the shifts will be slippy and slow.

the engine wont be a problem, it'll be built on the bottom end and top end soon enough. but thats the problem. the engine will be able to handle a lot more power than stock with the proper tuning, but i'm worried about how much power and torque the tranny can take before it gives out. i already have the B&M and a tranny cooler is in the works.

I say boost the sh!t out of it and deal with it if it becomes a problem. I dont think it will though. OH and if it does, put it on a dyno so others can know just exactly how much it will hold.

If you're worried about how much it can take read this thread:
