My '01 cavy had a problem today. After being parked in a garage all night, I drove her this morning and the TRAC OFF light stayed on and it shifted very hard. After sitting outside for about 3 or so hours. When I started her up the light was off and she shifted great. Why did this happen??? Need help !!! That is why I hate AT.
Was the E-Brake up by one notch? I know that if you have the E-brake up by one small notch in an AT, it will disable to traction control. So that may be the reason for the light. Could you have maybe bumped it up, or had it up and didn't remember?
do you have a shift improover installed? the traction controll light will often come on for various trans problems. if it shifted hard it sounds like your line pressure was high for some reason. if it happens alot you may needa replace a solenoid
