My question, is how do you remove the LSD from the differential so you can change the springs? I would like to get stiffer springs from you, but have no idea how I am going to get it out of there. It is tight as hell.

hammer it out. or you can use the needle vises like said.

speed, mantapart sells phantom grip last i checked.

I emailed EP about their diff for the Isuzu trans and got an email back with a price of 550. But didnt say if that was for there street or race unit.

If it can holfd up to some power, thats probably not that bad of a deal and i would think it would be alot stronger than the PG type inserts, and probably not as good as the gear type locker that the Qualife unit is.

Well i called a lcal trans shop yesterday that specializes in manual trans and with me taking the trans out and taking it to them, they told me 250 to take it apart and install the LSD and put it back together again.

Brian----SpeedRacerZ-----do you know what kind of prep has to be done to the side gears? How much if any material has to be machined off for your LSD to go in, i need to know so that i can tell the trans shop what has to be done, they are not familier with this kind of thing.

It is on the order of a few hundredths of an inch. That is all I had to take off of mine to get it in.

Ok, so basicaly you just have to remove enough material to allow the LSD to fit inside the gears. Ok sounds good, ill probably have this done either next week or the week after. I cant wait i need a new clutch bad.

Yeah, don't have them remove too much. When it is installed, they should take a measurement between the LSD plate and the gear with a feeler gauge. It gives a range of measurements on the instructions as to what it should be.

Yeah i just printed the install instructions off PG's website, and it says that there should be .003-.005 clearance between the LSD and the side gears with the plates pressed together.

So i have all the info i need and am ready to have this installed.

IS there anywhere online i can get a copy of some really good instructions on how to take apart the trans? I really hate to pay somebody for something that i could do, i have the tools just never torn down one of these tranys before. And i dont like going in blind.

I have a factory sho manual but it doesnt go into detail about trans overhaul.

Thanks Brian

For some reason, when I clicked on it last night at home, all it would do is return me to the home page!! Weird. Maybe I'm not supposed to mess with it LOL
