NVG-T550 tranny in a LD9

i searched and could not find much helpful info. i was wondering how hard the NVG-T550 tranny is to swap into a 97z24. what is involved? and have you had any sucess in the swap. how much stronger is it than the isuzu 5spd. although nothing could be worse.

You didn't search hard enough.

I just finished reading a crapload of info from ppl that did the swap and said what was involved... in fact some had pictures (links are dead)

Anyway I am JUST about to do this swap (well Racetech will do it for me) but I've been researching it. You need:

-NVT Tranny
-NVT front mount
-NVT slave cylinder if you have a 92
-NVT Throwout bearing

You need to lengthen the shifter linkage bracket a bit to reach the stock cables...

other than that it SHOULD bolt right up.

Mine should be done by end of July with:

Spec Stage 3 Clutch
NVT550 Tranny
NVT550 Axles
Solid Mounts
B&M Shifter

I'm pretty stoked.
