Brian,

I read through the full thread and saw some short write-ups for the Getrag, but what all has to be done to the Isuzu's? You mentioned that some machining of the spider gears or something has to be done?

Did you ever get an "installation sheet" together?

I'd really like to get one of these for my 95 2.2 5-speed, but I work best with instructions... Especially if some metal has to be cut...

Thx.

I'm still working on the install instructions. Theres a bit more to do on the Isuzu, which makes it more of a pain. if you know how to open your trans, I have a link to a generic install page....... covers the clearences and such.

At the moment, I don't, but I'm gonna find out... I want to see what I'm getting myself into here.

Could you post the link to the "generic install" you mentioned or email it to me?

How much cutting are we talking about? Methinks, this sounds like a major job for the Isuzu... Thx.

I found some threads that I thought I would include here for others to use re: the Isuzu tranny. Unfortunately (after a lot of searching) I still didn't find any good how-to's or take aparts (maybe I'm missing something).

Lots of opinions on the Isuzu tranny, so take these threads as suggestions, not as gospel...

Some basic Isuzu info
...more

Gear swaps
...more

Differential durability

Brian, the Team Green LSD has gotten RAVE reviews -- especially from the Getrag guys. It sounds durable and I'd love to get one... But, honestly, my Isuzu tranny doesn't sound like it may be up to the task of being able to handle the Team Green once I start putting down more power... lol

Right now, my tranny is pushing 152 000 orig miles with no issues, but.... I noticed in an archived thread that you mentioned blowing up an Isuzu doing burnouts. What is your take on my tranny (1995 Sunfire 2.2)? If I have to cut into the differential gears which are the weakest link in the chain... I am considering doing some gear swaps to the earlier Isuzu gearsets, etc.

Any help/opinions would be great.

The older machined isuzu spider gears would be a great idea for you, and you could maybe even have the machine work done before you pull your tranny, so it's ready to swap straight in. I'm hoping to get my TG LSD in my spare tranny in about a month and a half, after I get my garage built, then into the car shortly after that, but mine's a getrag.

Sorry its taking so long on these Auto LSD's........ Havnt spent alot of time out in the garage lately. I'll see if I can get one of the local guys over, and con them into tearing this 4 speed apart, then I just need to spec one out and get a couple 'demos' made up.

I havnt forgot about you guys, just with summer and all, I've been pretty busy. I promiss to get these done by christmas
