I got side tracked on the install guide....... but there are pics around here some where. I'll take more when I do another install on the 22nd..... (I know, a little to late in your case)

On the getrag, pull the case bolts, pull the intermediate shaft cover/plug, pull the 12mm allen bolt behind it, tap the intermediate shaft out, case falls open. Pull the diff out, remove the speed ring, remove the end clips from diff pin. pull pin. check spider gears for damage, and flatness (two large ones) install LSD, put diff pin back in. remove retainer clips from Unit. put it all back together.

I recommend installing new axle seals (GM Part Number: 97029260) and new Intermediate shaft cover/plug (GM Part number: 09120610)...... the axle seals can be found at AZ for half GM's price (95+ J's all use the same axle seals, regardless what AZ computers say)

I cant tell you for sure, since I have yet to open a 4speed...... your best bet is to pick up some GM service manuals....... it will cover everything you need to know about the automatics.

there are a few on ebay right now.

brian the lsd that are selling is it a factory diff that is welded or do u make a real lsd, and do u a lsd in stock for a 2001 getrac 5spd and if not how long of a wait.

Jared.... it all depends on the shop...... .for people who come to me (with the Getrag) I charge $250 to pull the trans, and install the LSD..... and put the trans back in...... but thats for the Getrag, the Isuzu would probably be +$350 to do.........

Mike....... I sell a LSD Insert...... machined plates and springs..... I currently do not have any left in stock, but should by the middle of next month.

400 just to crack it open? Damn, there's a tranny shop around here that I asked to install one of these when I get it and they said they want 150 to open it, not including installing the lsd.

^^lol ohh ok.. Hmm That may be reasonable. Are they dropping the tranny and putting it back in the car? If so 450 sounds on point.
