How do you actually get this plug out? When I try to turn it out, the whole diff spins....

put it in gear, and hold the input shaft. its a pita, but it comes out. (if you have an old clutch laying around, you can use it to make a tool to hold the input shaft easier)

....? i have them in stock... by the book, you dont HAVE to replace it, just use GMS (RTV) to seal the hole......

Well, I pretty much destroyed the old one getting it out, lol. I think I need a new one.

Once you pull the bolt out behind the seal and take all the case bolts out, should there be anything else preventing the case from coming apart? Mine is cracked apart about 1 CM but won't come apart anymore than that.

Anyone know about the brass fork tips yet? Wouldn't mind getting some if they are the same from the HHR.

Hey guys i just had the same damm thing happen to my 06 saturn. I have a couple of questions for you guys becuase i am NOT paying the 4000 the dealer says i need a new transmission.

Were you able to get all the parts you needed from GM?
Are there gaskets or seals required? Or were you able to use silacone?
Any other advice (or pitfall avoidance) for me since im taking this to an AAMCO where my buddy works?

I have found nothing for any car with a F23 on SI..... but I will keep looking.. after all, i did find out you can get PS hex inserts for cams.

Can you guys teach me how to tank the manual tranny apart? I completely trashed my izuzu trying to get the cover off. Anyone in the orlando florida area??
