I just hooked it up to my 2000 2.4L Auto. Works awesome. I got a funny smell at first but it went away. (I think it was my brakes) The clunking at first scared the crap out of me. But it works great now. Thanks for the photos. Woudl you mind if I put these in my online archive so they will be accessable for future generations.

Anyways. Time to go bleed the brakes.
Well people seem to still have alot of problems with installing the ShiftPlus.... why i don't know so i went outside and i took pictures, the directions are below and pictures, u don't really even need the install directions if u look at the pictures, also if u can 't install it after this post then u really need to take your car to a professional, also the connectors used below did not come with the shift kit, these are called tap splices, which i got from home depot. so u now have everything lets hope its all u need.

TO INSTALL SHIFT KIT #70380 AT TRANNY... 2 MINUTE INSTALL: this install was done on a 98 2.2l 4 speed auto, this connector is found in the front of the transmission to the left of the battery, and to the right of the header, it is gray and circular, it is about 6 inches down from the red tranny vent plug, thats says trans, it is 2 inches in diameter, the wires u are connecting is the black wire to the lt blue with white stripe, now the other red wire you want to install to is the red wire with black stripe this wire is directly underneath the light blue one, not the one to the right of it, which is another red with black stripe wire, which has a dark blue wire underneath, look at the connector with the white arrow at 180 degrees, any problems let me know, i get no engine lights, and my ets off light doesn't come on like some people have had problems with stage II.

Thank god for this forum. I have been deciding on which shift kit i want the b& m or the intercetor, and my mind is made up. B & M! cheaper and with LittleBill's pics i think i would have to be retarded to not be able to install it. I just want to say thank you for all the infomation and pics on this forum.

This thing is great. It took me three tries to get it right. FYI there is more than one red with a black strip. But I guess everyone except me read the orginal post carefully. I started it up and put it in drive and BAM! The roads are wet so of course I'm spinning but I want to try it on dry road. Thanks to jonnyonwheels for turning me on to this and thanks for the pictures. Because I wouldn't have done it without this post. It feels good to get help from other j-body owners who want to help. Thanks
So the project has begun B&M shiftplus, engine mounts, its a start

Can you change the settings with the car on? Or do you have to change the settings with the car off?

Question do we know which wire does what? Like does one increase line pressure and the other turn off traction control? Reason I ask is the Reaper has one, and you can feel it when you turn it on, but the traction like does not come on.
Good question, one that I cannot answer!

I don't think it's purpose is to turn off the traction control, as for the year I had it in my car, not once did it disable the ETS. It seems to be hit and miss, some people's it does, others it doesn't.

I believe 1 wire bumps up the line pressure, and I too would like to know what the other one does.

both wires do the same thing, supposly all it does is add a resistor inline, i haven't tried mine, to see if this is true, but all your messing with the line pressure solenoid

the taps that come with the kit will give you trouble, they did me with in 2 mos went back and soldered it in no trouble since.

I really like the Christmas tree lights idea, who knew?

Ran across this tonight when I was trying to design an ETS switch for the cav that works like the one in the sunfire. Here's what GM has to say about the two wires:

The automatic transmission inbut (shaft) speed sensor (a/t iss) provides transmission input speed to the PCM. The a/t iss is a permanent magnet (pm) generator. The sensor mounts into the transmission case and maintains a slight air gap between the sensor and the drive sprocket. The PM generator produces an AC voltage as the drive sprocket rotor teeth pass through the sensor's magnetic field. The AC voltage increases with turbine shaft speed. The PCM converts the ac voltage into a digital signal. The pcm determines actual turbine speed using the digital signal. The pcm uses the input speed to calculate torque converter slip speed, and gear ratios.
^^^^ ok I read it , now how does this relate to your switch? I was going to just put on in-line with the one that goes to the E brake flip the switch no TC your in business. what ya really need is to be able to shut up that chime when you don't want it.
I have already done that, I just think its ghetto because the brake light comes on and the drl's turn off... Sunfires don't have that problem because they already have a switch.
