Clutch not engaging...Need advice

So i just got done putting a new master and slave cylinder on my car, bled the line alot and still i cant get the clutch to engage..i have to pump the pedal a few times just to get it to go into first..what could the problem be? Any help would be great..Its a 04 cavalier btw..

make the the clutch line is in fully and locked. if not, may have to pull it apart and re check the slave is installed correctly, and everything is in alignment.

slave bolts in only one way..cant make any adjustments with it..i noticed pumping the pedal when the car is running is alot softer than it is when its off..

Try reverse bleeding it. Sounds to me like there is still lots of air in there.

Yeah keep bleeding it. I had the same problem with my car and kept bleeding the lines and the pedal got harder like it should be.
