2.4 Slave cylinder

Hey i was just wondering how many people have replaced a clutch slave cylinder inside the transmission. How tough is replacing it?? and does this sound like a slave cylinder problem when my has sat for a day and has fully cooled off i can shift smoothly but the more i shift and warmer it gets it will grind gears when shifting but when its sat for like lets say a day and fully cooled off i can shift into any gear no problem does that sound like the slave cylinder letting air into the clutch system?

Try bleeding the clutch first. Flush it all out with new fluid. Check your transmission fluid level too.

And if it ends up being the slave cylinder, yo have to pull the transmission out to replace, so if it were me I would replace the entire clutch setup while it is apart.

Bleed it with another person helping as if you were doing brakes. Or pressure bleeding it would be the best way. Check your fluid reservior line and hydraulic line from the master to slave cylinder. Sometimes the O-rings can deteriorate and allow air to enter as well.

The pedal won't return on a clutch system because it's not designed to. you have to pull it back up manually.

It's fairly common on our cars. I'd say more so with the Isuzu transmission Vs. the Getrag. Engine doesn't seem to make a difference either.

Yes. All 95-99 J-Body cars had the Isuzu transmission. 2000+ had the Getrag.

Sounds more to me like the transmission is low on fluid or needs the fluid changed.

Check the transmission dipstick.

Yes it does. Look again.

Your problem does not sound throwout bearing related as you aren't complaining about the pedal or its feel. The transmission is grinding when shifting into gear and the fluid is warm.

So step #1 is to check your fluid and possibly change it. I have fixed this exact issue 4 times by either adding fluid or changing out old fluid.

Or you could just pull the trans and change the throwout bearing if you want... 6 or so hours vs 20 mins sounds like a better idea.
