another shift+ question
Sunday, June 05, 2005 11:35 AM
I installed mine a few days ago and it is working great. The only thing I noticed is when I'm in stage 2 and at full throttle the transmission shifts so hard that I hear a sqeaking noise. I think it's the movement of the engine, is that bad?? Am I going to blow my mounts? Should I get some eurothane motor mounts? I searched the posts and couldn't find the answer to my question.

Are you getting any CELs?
If not, go out and shake your engine, if it feels like it's moving around too much that's probably your problem

Oh and don't use Stage 2 for cruisin, only use it for racing and towing, it's not meant for average engine speed.

no i'm not getting any cel's never had any lights or errors at all.

I don't use stage 2 for crusing, i keep it in stage 1. The only reason i had it in 2 was to try it out after i got it. I didn't like the noise it made so i haven't really used it since.

I think my motor mounts are fine for now, but could they be damaged in the future if i continue to use the shift kit?

That's something I'm concerned about too, but from what I've heard, no.
I've had mine in for about the beginning of April, put in on Stage 1 for about 2 months, and nothing's gone wrong. (Well, my motor mounts were already shot, so I had to change them, but I don't think it was a result of the +

34,000 m never leaves stage 1 except in snow, mounts are fine be happy don't worry

Its not how fast your car goes....its how much nerve the driver has to push it that fast.
