does anyone know how to ajust the shift linkage on a 96 sunfire?

the linkage that runs from the shifter inside to the trans, it seems like the shifter won't move up far enough to go into park, but you can reach down and push it under the hood and it will click into park that way, could it be something else?

If it's a manual transmission:
Your cables are more than likely stretched out, no adjustments can be made.

Your only alternative is to replace the pair.


If it's an automatic transmission, not sure....might want to have a garage look at it.
