Hello hello. Now I am about to pick up a 2000 z24 to replace my 1996 2.2l body, my 2.2 is a fulley build motor. I would like to put this motor In the 24 with the 24 transmission, can this be done and what is needed.
Thanks

You'll have to use a 2.2 transmission

does the 2.2 transmission have the same mounts as the 2.4

2000 and up, the transmission mounts changed. You will either need to swap to a 2000+ 2.2 or weld in the mounts from a 99 and under. The mounts for the 2.2 and the 2.4 were the same mounts. The only difference is the bell housings for the 2.2 and the 2.4... and NO you can not swap bell housings. Don't even ask. 95-99 have different trans mounting locations compared to the 2000-2002

2.2 - 2.4 izuzu trans are the same except for the bell housing, no adapter plate, just change bellhousing.

2.2 - 2.4 Getrag trans are the same except for the bell housing, no adapter plate, just change bellhousing.

Thanks for the info.
So from what I can understand, my 1996 Ln2 motor can bolt up to the 2.2 getrag bellhousing that can then bolt up to my 2000 2.4 getrag. Is this right
