"Flush" Wheels?
Friday, April 09, 2010 2:35 PM
I haven't been around this site much lately, just wondering if anyone is running flush wheels yet on a J-Body? If so lets see your stuff along with wheel and tire specs.

I might be crazy but i'm about to order some 17x9 +30mm offset wheels and wrap them in 205/45/17 tires for my 02 Z24....

It's getting APC stickers?

But seriously, to answer your original question, I'd pick a lower profile wider tire, instead of stretching the piss out of a narrow one. Maybe a 235/35 or a 225/40. Also, I'm not sure you'll have the inside clearance for a 9" with a +30 offset. You may need a little lower, which would push the wheels beyond flush.

The stretched tire is all about fender clearance. If i were to run a wider tire that was square to the rim the fender would be sitting right on it...

A 17x9 +30 compared to my current wheels will only extend inward (towards the strut) 1mm and will extend out an extra 37mm.

The only other tire size i am considering is a 205/50/17.

Those will at least give you the right overall height. Definitely post pics when they're on. I'm curious to see how it turns out.

I think bigfoot is blurry,
that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra
scary to me. There's a large, out-of-focus monster, roaming the countryside.
