Stock Offset on Ls sport wheels
Saturday, July 26, 2014 2:22 AM
Hey guys,

Im new on this site and i was just looking around (probably not hard enough) i was looking to buy custom 16" wheels. Im not sure of the offset on the stock ones to make sure im getting the same on the newer wheels. Would 16x6 and 16x7 make that much of a difference. I know the stock ls sport runs 16x6 but the wheels im getting are 16x7 recommended tires are 205/55/r16 and thats what i am running now so what would be the difference. ?
thanks

The 205/55 will fit easily on a 7" rim. The offset of the stock wheels is approximately +38. If you stick with a similar offset, you'll be fine, and a wider wheel will actually come out closer to the wheel well, so they don't look quite so tucked. A common offset for a 7" rim on our cars is anywhere from +35 to +45.

I would run 225/50/16s since the overall height is the same as 205/50/16s, and you will have a slightly larger contact patch.

I run 225/50/16s on stock 95-99 rims which are 35 or 38mm offset.
