Didn't want to jack the other thread on questions for 17's. I've always run 215's but now seeing a bunch of posts on 225's. A little ruff on 215's but never minded it. And I know 225's pretty dam close overall. Opinions? 2004 Cavalier stock suspension.

225/45/17 is the proper size for a 17" wheel.

WELL IF YOU CAN'T GET THEM ON TEH CHEAP,

Then 225/45/17 will work perfect all around. 215 looks like one of those cheap tire packages people buy just to save $30. Go with 225, then lower it a bit. You won't be sorry.

Absolutely go with the 225 on a stock vehicle. It's a small difference, but the 215 on a stock height is going to look weird. I've seen it on enough stock Cavaliers, and they always look undersized. That magic balance between side wall height and the gap between the top of your tire and the wheel opening really makes a difference.

The 225 will absolutely ride better too, given the same brand and model of tire.

225/45/17 ALL DAY - Can't believe I went with 215/40/17 for years. Much better difference in handling not to mention the overall look of the car - meatier tires always looks better IMO.
