steering column compatibility

I have a 95 coupe with tilt, after removing the wheel to repair the clock spring for the horn. i found that my steering shaft bearing behind the wheel was come completely apart.
I was looking for a replacements at yards, and while i know it needs to have tilt and should probably be in the 95-99 year range i was wondering just how specific it HAS to be. When i look it up on car-part it only shows me 95 columns, but when i change the listing to a 97 car it shows me 97,98 and 99 parts. anyone know if they really are that specific or can i use one off a newer year coupe up to 99 ?????
thanks guys

What I do know is 03+ is different. It also has a better turn ratio.

turn ratio is in the rack not the column.

I put tilt in my 99 fire, the column and wheel was a direct swap, it was from a 2000 fire. Just let you know what I did.
