Taking bottom dash apart?

I know how to take out the HVAC/guage/raido shroud and the big top dash piece.

How do i take out the rest to paint? Meaning the bottom half.

thanx

You have to take the ENTIRE dash out, if you see the piece that runs along the windshield, that and the bottom of the dash are all one piece.

just follow along the lines of the dash, unscrewing the screws, youlle have to most likely pull your steering wheel. ( u don on a fure, not sure on a cav) and pull your airbag out, its just 4 screws and that yellow connecter wire (make sure the battery is unplugged and the fuse is pulled a while before hand) othere then that not much to it, there will be some various vents youlle have to pull out the top. but its not bad.

The steering wheel and bag has to be pulled to get the bottom part of the dash out? Like glove box and such? I dont need the part near the windseild out.

I don't think you get what I'm saying. That part near the windshield is the part of the lower dash, the lower dash is HUGE. That piece and your glove box, fuse panel, everything under your radio, its all one gigantic plastic part.

I just took that bottom part out yesterday in my sunfire. It required taking out both airbags, gauges, steering wheel... I had essentially taken out every other peice of plastic to get to it. By the way, snds, you got yours out without pulling the wheel? I had to not only take out the wheel, but the blinker level, wiper level, and ignition thing... I'd be amazed to find a way to do it without doing all that.
