I'm clearing my hvac knobs out this weekend and I want to paint them red ( I still want them to glow red red at night though) what paint do you suggest I get?

Some sort of glass or plastic paint. Any local craft store, maybe a hobby store, and maybe even Wal Mart, will have some. Just make sure it dries translucent and you're all good.

I suggest painting the back of them, since the front gets touched all the time the paint wears off rather quickly.

i highly suggest not to paint them unless you want them to look like a faded red during the day, i testd a spare i had w/some blue testors paint- get LED or get someone to do it for you...looks sooo much better-just my opinion

Well obviously the more paint you put on, the darker the color will be, and the liess light will shine through.

If you go with Ozzies idea you get to rip apart your dash but you will get a better look.

Do make sure you use LEDs though, cuz those colored light bulbs are My friend put some red ones behind his dash, and they look pink.

Use a paint called metalcast it comes with the chrome tops, I used red and did mine and they look sweet. They look good during the day and at night.

I must have done mine really dark, because they look really red during the day. I used Krylon stained glass paint in red, and they turned out quite good.

try buying testors illuninated paint. you can buy it at any hobby store.. its a clear paint that testors makes.. i painted mine with it.. it glows red at night and has a clear red in the day. imo its better than any other paint.. it comes in a spray can, and its got a chrome red label.. cost me about 7 bucks canadian.

When i painted my knobs the 1st time I used a red translucent paint from a craft store. This past weekend i took that apint off because it was darker in spots & you could still see some brush strokes.

This weekend I'm getting ahold of a red light gell (the thing theators put over lights to change the color of the light on stage) and I'll be cutting it to the shape I need & putting that behind the knobs.
