First fiberglass project

Well here we go, here's one door panel just about done. I made one for my driver's side, but it's gigantic. I'm going to be cutting it out, re-doing one just like the passenger and getting it painted too.

I put some liquid nail to hold it back in. Up close, it doesn't look bad at all.

Im just going to be honest, it looks chunky and stuff. Should have used fiberglass rezin on the front to get a more gradual blend between the two pieces and then glassed it on the back. You also should have sanded more. Maybe its just the pics I dunno. lol

The first reply was also by me on my girlfriends computer.

That's something I haven't mastered yet. I just cut the triangle piece out, cut some mdf rings, used dowel pins to hold it up, used t-shirt material around it, stretched and hot glued it on, then glassed and sanded. At a later date I might see if I can form it all in, but not right now.

ya it's a paint o make fiberglass stick to plastic anyway, but maybe try to use some lightweight filler, you can probly just sand it down to the plastic and fiberglass and it'll probly stick to both, but thats for later i'm gonna be fiberglassing my entire dash panel, ripping out the old pos and probly cover it in some nice velvet or something, (my porject is always on update checkl out my cardomain page, but still, it's anice color, get alot of coats of paint and clear coat on it otherwise you'll be touching it up all the time
