not to jack a post but, Sinfire....is that the whats making all my noise when i play my music? cuz i had a wiked vibration from the passenger side in that adea...but it seems like they put a vent for a reason.. would putting a solid filler plate there be a bad idea?

Shaving that vent is a VERY good idea...if you think bout it, thats hte ONLY place where air can get out of the trunk if the seats up. Meaning all that air is being forced out a small hole and will shake or vibrate anything in that area ALOT. That may cause the rear bumper to shake and also the license plate? I wonder how much noise it would illiminate?

But what your saying is that having a small hole to release the air is a bad thing... how is covering it and making it all air tight better? cuz my understanding is that Sinfire was saying to weld a filler plate there, am i wrong?

When the trunk is sealed off it is louder because less air escapes, forcing all of the air into the rest of the car. It would also cause less vibration, like z2fst4u mentioned, in the back bumper and license plate.

This is similar to why ppl with huge systems that compete weld shut their trunk and rear windows ect.

I welded in a plate on mine over a year ago, has never caused any problems... if im not mistaken its there to prevent mildew (from gettin water in your trunk)... In my case i have a full custom trunk install and I never open it in the rain.

and yea it helps out ALOT with the rattles.

Oh and MOVE THE TRUNK CARPET WHEN WELDING IN THE PLATE.. if not you end up with a flaming trunk lol
you dont have to weld in the plate tho, you can just use sealent(silicone) and a few rivets

Well the wipers i need just because this is a daily driver.

the vent in the trunk i,m going to put some heavy foam in. That way it slows down the air travel alot but still has some air circulation so i don't get mildew in my custom trunk enclosure once all the monitors and amps are all installed..( i would have to have something short out because of water vapors!
