I suggest a support or something to fix the wave, paint wouldn't hurt either

Thanks for the comments...

Oh, and the paint is coming. Havnt even checked prices yet. BTW, cant i have it painted with everything installed? I mean, the sides are ON but the front and rear can come off (if its a MUST). I wasnt really thinkin when i put everything on but i figured they could do it on (the sides anyways). Anyone know?

I would guess somwhere in the $500 to $800 range to have it painted properly.

Looking very nice, however I think all 'fires NEED eyelid or else they look kinda wimpy/happy, I would suggest getting them as you will need some paint work anyways. Oh, and painted handles too....

Handles ARE gettin painted but i just got the hood done a couple of months ago and at the time i didnt feel like messing up a brand new 565 dollar Fiberglass hood!!

That looks INCREDIBLE. I really love it. I was kinda thinking you might ruin the look of your car if you kitted it, but I guess not. How's driving with like half an inch of clearance though?

Looks great man, and PS. I don't even see any wave in that pic.

when you take it for paint, get the lids done, It will set it off..its a must on fires.

You should take the whole kit off to paint it. It can be painted on the car, but wont look as good if you dont get all the cracks and crevises

Its not bad at all. I think i barely scraped the front one time so far.

As far as painting goes...i think im gonna leave the door mouldings on but take everything else off. Im gonna go to the local dealership and get some of the heavy duty 3m stuff for the skirts when it goes back together. I might ask them what they would charge to do the eyelids but i dont know if any shop here is capable of doing it. Id hate for them to not do what i want. Guess i need to print of some pics and show them.

Anyways, thanks for the comments...keep em coming!

SCHWEEEEEEET!!!!! Now about the wavy gap, Paul had his kit put on at a body shop and it to was alittle lose fitting, wavy, whatever the guy put spray in foam under the top of the lip to firm it up so that the gap looks even when you close the hood. Mind you it's alittle messy(splatters) but they rub off unwanted over spray areas. You could give this a try if nothing else has worked. Can't wait to see it completed. L8R!!

Looks really nice with the kit, once its painted it will be even hotter!

As for the wave, its pretty common.. both streetfire fronts I've gone through have had similar problems. We used some spacers in a few areas to even it out a little.

Wow...thanks for all the comments guys.

Sachhi...i might try that if all else fails.

Silverhawk...thanks for the pics. Id do it but ummm Its not gonna happen!! I went to the body shop that painted my hood (best ppl around this area) and theyre gonna paint my kit (everything is coming off except door panels), front fenders (major chips everywhere), door handles and locks, door edge (repair all chips) and spoiler for 850. Without painting the spoiler its 775. Its chipped up though so i figured why not.

Not a bad price for quality.

Now onto the eyelids...he wanted 500 for make em from scratch, mold em and then refinish the hood (paint etc). Really isnt THAT bad of a price but im not ready to sand down the paint i just put on a few months ago and spend another 500 on it. That would be around 1300 in my hood alone and thats crazy right now. Maybe later on down the road.

Rodimus prime...i agree with it lookin hot with no paint. Even pictued the kit being painted black...probably look halfway decent but im gonna do with the stock red.

Keep the comments coming....

oh, and by the way, since jesse pointed out I have no room to talk...yes I need paint to. The kit looks good though I know your desire for perfection, and I know it will look good in the end.

As for driving with no clearance, don't be an idiot, and you'll get around just fine Driving a lowered car takes adjustment.....lowered with a kit just requires a little more caution.

Re: Streetfire Kit Installed!! wow :)

Yeah...its really not that low...seriously! My cavvy was lower (the cav i bought off alex16cav). It had a blitz kit and was lowered on sportlines and it sat lower. I learned how to drive with it (fiberglass kit to) and now im reeping the benefits!!

BTW...where is everyone gettin the fogs?? I dont wanna give 80+ for stockers and no yards have any GT's around here. Anybody running universal fogs? If so, what size? I measured the hole and think it was around 3.5-3.75" but i want a perfect fit like the stocks ones....

Let me know!!

Also, i will post more pics tomorrow (of interior etc.) when clean it up. Also gonna wait and put the grille in after paint (make it easier on him). Going to cut off muffler tommorrow and try to rig up something (probably straight pipe with lil turn down til i figure out how im gonna route the exhaust under the bumper while looking good. Its about 3" lower than the stock one and its scary me. Gotta fix it fast before it burns a hole through the bumper!!!
