same screen name, different display name, same standards. if its not an improvement over the factory styling why do it. if it cant be done right why do it. if it cant be done while keeping overall safety of the vehicle, why do it?

I think it looks pimp, being that it is a show car and that looks and ice are above practicality I think it's great. I can appreciate the hard work and look forward to seeing updates!

IMO, it looks like the car was wrecked, thus the deployed airbag, and the crapped out windshield. I personally wouldnt want to drive it, not so much about the dash, but the fact that it was wrecked.. If its all show, then best a luck to ya.
I'm replacing my whole windshield with a flatscreen, so I can compete at NCCA shows this season.

You definitley know how to fabricate and i give you props for that. I feel the best way to learn how to do anything is by actual hands-on work. Gives you a better idea about design and what looks good and what not to do in future projects.
Also, I would just like to add that there is a way to state your opinions without coming across ass a-holes. The guy is Human, how about showing a little more respect instead of making fun of his project.

.............. I just did that because i had the car inside summit racing, and i had to put a place for the radio to sit, then i sold it as the car was inside summit, i did that in litteraly 20min, so its cool!
ohhh and the car was wrecked if no1 seen my pics. before, i bought the car as a salvage title, i havent put the new windshield in yet because im leaving it out to fiberglass!

Ok, i feel to throw my info in this, i sit back at work and check and read up on all of this, ok everyone has an opinion, i work with people and cars all day, everyone has their own taste of a car, some like speed, some like show, some like to drag the living piss of there car down a road, and others like to get stuck in the mud.. Obviously this car is for shows, and its not like it will be drivin all the time .. and i dont see a big O turbo or charger sittin around. No if ur a daily driver, some dont do as much video a flip out piece is nice.. watch a lil vid or whatever porn, music vids, or blue coller comedy... i mean what im tryin to get here is to each his own, he is obviously proud of his work and wanted people to see. I wont forget the first time i posted on here i got a few good comments and well some crappy ones of my car, i was just gettin into this scene, and though a spoiler and body kit made me one bad ass mo fo, boy was i wrong when a grandma in an accord killed me on third st. it takes time and i was PROUD when i first started and i am to this day, i do believe i just made a post of my updates on my car. Im proud and if got alot of god feedback. thanks to the guys on the org also. Ive learned alot from everyone on here, the good and the bad, hense how I build my car.. quickly learning about what and what not 2 do.. and believe me, ive done some stupid things, but i see kids every day building and starting and i give my straight up opinion. next thing u know i see there stuff at a show and its awsome because they finish and want it to look good. Its opinion everyone and thanks to everyones on here i continue to build and learn about my car... so this is my OPINION. and i say thanks to everyone on this org for positive and neg comments. and i thank everyone ive ever emailed or IMed askin questions.

thanks, Ive been in the show scene for about 6 years now, i did start off with a cavalier that was by far...... not a car that should go to shows and i thought it was pimp, ive learned so so much in the past 6 years, every car i do it keeps getting better i learn on each thing i do.
One thing that everybody should know, i LIKE TO BE DIFFERENT, their isnt one thing that i have done that somebody else has done (the custom stuff).
To me for the people that have a opinion and dis-agree about the show scene, i think in my opinion its f-ing pointless to have toyota cavalier stuff all over, i mean some stuff is cool but i mean....... you spend 200 on a toyota cavalier trunk liner, or headliner or w/e.... and i spend 90 and do a totaly custom dash.
MOSTLY every single judge out their does not know the difference between jdm and factory. people say good judges will know which i guess is true, but this year i competed at HIN and Carlisle, which is NCCA and i pulled up into the judging lanes and i hit the air ride right in front of the dude and he was like "so u got coil overs on here or air ride?" im like wtf, then he had me pop my hood which was mostly stock just clean, and he asked so does this have a turbo or Supercharger on it? im like wtf dude.
So to me i like driving around town, going to shows and seeing little kids and people go nuts over my car. and people to know my car is custom. I like standing out, the jdm people dont stand out. thats just my taste!. I dont see it fun to cruise in a car that you love so much and no1 realize that u love it!

I'm completely for people having show-cars, TV's everywhere, etc. Everyone has their own taste, I understand that. I don't expect everyone to take the same approach at modding, I mean....what fun would that be if everyone had the same approach and end product? None.
Custom work is great, I have an amazing appreciation for it............as I'm a minitrucker at heart. However nobody would guess that, as a Cavalier wouldn't be my ideal platform for the kind of work I admire. It may be your ideal platform, and if so I'm not knocking you. I just prefer a little spirited driving over looking good these days.
Sure this may be a show-car, but you're going to drive it on the street regardless, unless you prefer trailer queens. Even as a weekend warrior, the placement of those screens is going to get old quick, I know what it's like to have stuff of the dash over there, hats/etc. It's easily distracting for myself, and even from the view perspective you've shown in the pics....you cannot deny the fact that you've lost some of your visible area of the windshield.
It's when looks override function that I get disturbed, as you've just made your car that much more unsafe, and you should know even the judges factor function in, and as of right your viewing area isn't all that functional.......
The work looks great, though you clearly have a lot more to put into it, I just suggest you step back and take more of a thought process before executing such, planning could make or break you, and this quote worries me-

you say you do stuff to be different judges dont notice a cavalier trunk liner or know what it is and all this.. well if youve been around so long you should know about one of the things your judged on. overall cleanness and flowing of the car. the trunk liner might be jdm and no one knows it but ol dude judging will notice the underside of ur trunk is really slick and nicely done looks like a factory job. i dunno, I say you dont want people to hate then dont post. your just like spydar wizard, always thinking you are the top notch fabricator, the best of all yet you guys turn out some @!#$ty work. IMO other guys out there that are 15 with pimples over there faces might freak at your work who knows.
