New Toy.....
Wednesday, April 12, 2006 4:08 PM
I went out of town for about a week or so and something crawled into my engine bay, I must admit, i'm glad it chose to stay . Here's some pics I took of it.

If anyone has ideas as to how I can make an intake system for it then feel free to shout them out. I don't really want to stick with the stock airbox or have to relocate the battery but if I need to relocate it then I will. All comments are welcome.

nice! should be able to buy a 2.4 Intake(off ebay) and u can just cut it to use basically the last bend with the coupler.. itll have the sensor hole there u might need to bore it out a bit and i'd recommend a better filter instead of using teh @!#$ty ones that come with it.. Intake will only run bout 30bucks shipped.. but good filter will be another 30-40.. up to u tho.. just a idea.

I have an AEM CAI and though that might work but now that I look at it more i'm starting to doubt it. If I could get my CAI to work then it would be sweet.

Why wouldnt the AEM work? Buy one or two 3" mandrel bent pipes, you can get it to work

How do you like it? Gone to the track yet, any issues with install or reflash? I'm very jealous

I'm not sure why my CAI wouldnt work, I wasn't there when the dealership installed it, luckily they didnt throw it out or anything obsurd like that. I'm going to check it all out tomorrow. I'm hoping it will work, even if i have to "trim" the plastic piece of the intake. I haven't been to the track or a dyno yet, money right now is very tight so i'll hopefully be going to a dyno by mid May if everything goes well. The only thing is that the numbers may not be too high because i have a 2.25" exhaust and my car is also an Auto tranny but we'll have to wait and see i guess .

The only section that will be the major snag is from the section that is near the battery, its a very tight fit and I dont want to screw it up, lol.

Yup includes the reflash with the kit. all i am focusing on right now is the intake and a boost guage, i need to figure out exactly where I can run the lines from, the only port i see is on the top of the charger but i'm pretty sure that the lines would hit the hood.

Oh and young_Z95, I would go to Autozone if there was one in my town but the closest thing I have is either Canadian Tire or perhaps NAPA. But like I said, i'm gonna look at it again tomorrow when I have some more time and daylight.

What the hell!? I want one.

Re: New Toy.....

Its no problem Phlatcav, I must admit yes it looks "tangled" but I have a feeling the dealership could've done a better job of routing the wires/cables but as long as it does its job then I dont have a problem with it.

Marchi1 - wow, thats shiny, i'm not sure i'd want mine that clean but perhaps something better than its current state. What polish did you use? If you dont mind me asking.

Re: New Toy.....

Alex, the dealership won't make the lines look much better, the only major thing I would want to chnge is the routing of the overflow hose from the radiator into the bottle, I have "clearanced" mine already and need to change it, other than that I am going to combine the TMAP wires in with the injector harness in the loom to clean it up a little bit. I am evaluating ways to clean the vacuum line up to the reservoir as well.

One of the biggest things you could do is remove that vent line and put a filter on there as that makes it look much better!

Mine was a lot of work with a Die-grinder, dremel, sand papaer and eventually a professional polish shop, and it will be an un godly amount of work to keep clean, but worth it I think.
