Thanks guys
all these posts keeps me motivated so much...keep it coming...
I got quite a bit more work done today. I got up early considering the late night I had the previous night, took my nephew to the park, then got right to work on the fender before working at night.
I was able to clean up the foam, do some fiberglassing along the edges where the panel was mounted onto the fender. I gota work the morning tomorrow too, so hopefully at night I can get a little more work done and I can take some pics.
Jason. Thanks man. Yeah I'm 100% sure I will go with wider rims for the same reason you are saying. I am however not going to really "look" around anymore right now. If I found a set of rims, and ordered them now...I wouldn't know exactly how well it would sit with the wider panels. I do believe once I get the panels on the car and mounted, I can measure and get a lot better judgement on the width instead of just tossing out a number in the air for the sake of it.
I'll keep the pics coming along as I progress.
man that car has gone from hot to hotter and now it will be drop dead sex appeal. that might just be the first car on this site that i hump
Well alot more progress has taken place so far.
Got alot of work ahead of me, but things have gone pretty smooth so far (knock on wood). The next step is to move that cas cap, so i can mount the rear panel that way I can start to glass the side skirt since I had to take it off since working on the fender.
here are some new pics from today:
Got quite a bit of homework to do this week, and the free days I have I'm stuck at work...looks like Thursday will be my next day to attack the car some more.
LOL looks like u got a lil bit of sanding to do eh. My only concern is that the fiberglass isn't gonna hold to the body, you take it down to bare metal behind?
looking good, ive always enjoyed following the progression of things that youve been doing to your car. awesome bro.
Sigga what?

i'm with him. aren't you supposed to go down to bare metal? that's what i've heard at least. i really hope everything works out for you though man. i'd hate to see that much work put into that car (that thing is so damn sexy) and hear that the widebody didn't stay on. lookin amazing though. absolutely incredible.
wow dude awesome job, keep it up
excuse my language...
BUT HOLY F#CKIN @!#$ THIS IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!! ..what more can you say??
Man that flare looks familiar
Man I wish you had more time to work on this project because I'm so damn anxious to see this car FINISHED. Awesome work so far. I always know when more pics have been added because the post has gained another page full of comments, lol. Keep us posted!
Your car is coming along great cant wait to see the finished product
---Under Construction again---
well I guess your committed now lol honestly cant wait till next season
^ I was committed once I took the grinder to the wheel wells a few weeks ago lol.
Well today I got ALOT done
firstly...I started to work on the fender again...got some more sanding done on that, then my arms were tired from sanding so i took a break, then I just said screw it...let's do the gas cap relocation today. so I jumped in my car, went to the homedepot and bought my supplies.
I was thinking of using rubber tubing, but I was still iffy about using the rubber tubing instead of metal...
I began by removing the gas door and black housing to the gas cap:
I then cut a hole so I could bring the piping though the trunk:
Then I cut a hole where the piping would go to, and where the gas cap would now sit:
I wanted to make sure that the piping didn't shift or move at all, so I used this U shape clamp:
The clamp goes around the pipe and is bolted on the inner side of the tire well:
Here is how the piping looks so far...Still got a bit of work left to do on it still:
I will coat everything, and paint it black so it appears stock again.
The funniest thing is...I took the process pics, but I never did take a pic of the final look! LOL.
I did alot of test fitting, and nothing gets in the way with the air ride or tires. I have alot of clearance and that is what I was hoping for. Unfortunately...with the gas cap now going under the trunk lid...the side panel I made no longer fits nicely in there

...I might be re-doing the one side of the trunk set up now due to this.
I will get some more pics tomorrow when I do some more work on the car.
damn bro that sucks but u are coming along fast and hard man looks amazing and huge props to you and ur attiton span....
5 seconds to find another street...
Becareful about putting it there... water tends to seep down into the tank. Make sure it's weather proof, Trust me! I've had to drop the tank once already to get the water out of it (PITA) Looks good otherwise!
I'm still nervous the glass isn't gonna hold to the paint, but hopefully it turns out for ya! Keep posting pics!
wow man... totally amazing.... keep it coming dude!

Hope you dont poor gas in your trunk filling it up all the time... Kind of a bad spot for a gas cap... Looks sweet but very impractical.
Love this thread Vince...Keep the pics comming..
Vince barely drives that car, i doubt he'll spill anything once a year when he DOES fill up.

wide body is coming along great! and looks sexy as hell.
Just a comment, but the copper piping going to the tank..kinda looks ghetto.
