I'm always in the running for dirtiest engine bays, and yeah I plan on making the attempt at driving it pretty regularly. I didn't know it was unsprung until I opened it. Probably should have asked that question when I ordered the Spec Stage 4. Oh well you live you learn, if it sucks terribly I'll just drop the cash on a 3+ and the 3 hours to swap it out.

Clutch gave out, wouldn't engage when I shifted 3rd hard, I stepped on the throttle...hard, revved to limiter, 8192, bounced a couple times causing the lsj head gasket that I was running to crack in 2 spots and also cracked a sleeve. I tried to get pics of the sleeve but it wouldn't show up in pics it just looks like a line but you can feel it with your finger.

It could have been that the dyno I did back in September was off and I was actually beyond what it said, keep in mind the dyno was done in 3rd gear that is the only reason I'm kind of leary on the numbers. Stock sleeves are allegedly good to 400hp and the lsj head gasket, if I'm reading the upgrade matrix from the build book correctly, is good to 500hp. Could the release of tension in the sleeve caused the head gasket? Yes, seeing as the same thing happened when the other block was machined for the darton's. Could that have cause the head gasket to fail? Yes.

I think it can all be traced back to the clutch, but that clutch did me pretty good for a long time.

Well Curt's a post whore so he asked me to update while he and Anthony are still working in the garage. All this has been going on throughout the week.

His fancy new toy, I'm not all too sure what it does, but he keeps talking about how he doesn't have a limit on how much boost anymore.

On to the motor.

Back where it belongs...

Some little tensionor thingy, IDK.

The aftermath of them working until 2am last night.

Thanks for all the help this weekend Anthony. Thanks for letting me borrow the cherry picker Camron, should be coming to see you for a little TIG welding I'm gonna need done. .

sikcavy - Can't start it without the oil pump gear/front engine cover on it. Waiting for hardened oil pump gear. I'm not in too much of a hurry, it just snowed about 5 inches here over the weekend.

Darren - You gotta be a lil more patient sometimes sheesh lol.

it would have taken me 6 months to get that engine back in that car. but... on the contrary... you could have won best engine bay on jbo with the result.

i just dont understand why it means absolutely zero to you to clean things up in the engine bay.

tbe block was beautiful... it didnt look right. you should have dumped a gallon of used oil over it to match.

but... you know im giving you crap. we've gone over this time and time again lol no sense beating a dead horse... wait... skunk to death.

LOL
