Yeah it looks better now that it has settled.
My sportlines did the same thing.

Looks pretty good for a prokit.

Way to go man. Just out of curiosity, have you experienced a rougher ride with this set up (feeling every little bump)? Im considering going with a similar set up to what you have now because my set up has blown out on me (sportlines+KYB AGX shocks). Congratulations on your new set up and don't be surprised if you get s*&t from some of the .org members for putting the sticker on the tint line instead of the very bottom of the window (been there before).

Yeah I noticed the ride was alot more firm.Yes you can feel most small bumps. But im willing to put up with it considering the handling is far better than my old SUPER worn out factory struts+mounts.I just wish I would have went with a lower spring, but I wanted to stay within the tokico warranty+I no eibach makes great products.I think the tokico hp's are awesome.High speed stability is great, this new setup definitely made me a more confident driver for sure.Im sure you will be happy with whatever you get.If you can afford it then you can go with the d-specs,they have the adjustabilty option, which is always nice.Thats what I would have got.But it cost to much.

I'm glad you are happy with it.

But please for gods sake stop acting like the hp series and the D-specs are the same strut.

HP Series = OEM replacement.
D-spec = adjustable lowering strut.

I hate to argue but,I talked to tokico and THEY said the hp's ARE are performance struts. They said they are relatively the same valving and dampening and such as the d-specs.But they don't have the adjustabilty. They said they are FAR from an oem strut and can handle a lowering spring.

Since they are the same strut, except adjustability, then why won't tokico warrant them like they do the d-specs?
you are so dead seat on the fact that you have "performance" struts...

But don't try and act like this is a good setup.
fine you didn't have enough money.
But stop trying to tell everyone you bought a "performance" strut, that is "almost the same thing as a d-spec".
It's not, get over it.

It is well known to everyone here that this is a strut that is a little stronger then the stockers so they hold up a little longer then would a stock strut assembly, but it ends the same way, the both blow.

A good setup will handle good without you feeling every single bump.
more math for you

OEM replacement strut + lowering spring = you feel every bump in the road.

And For every good salesman there is a sucker.
I tried my honest best to be nice to you through this thread, but I couldn't sit back any longer.
Just because you called tokico you think you are earths all knowing suspension god.

Merry Christmas.

Um tokico does warranty them.Im not saying that Im a suspension god.I just figured I would believe tokico since they make the struts. But oh well I don't wanna get into an all out battle, all that matters is that im happy with it.Whatever I have, oem or performance its alot better than my stockers.I was thinking of just buying some springs and just putting them on my stock struts, but I learned that its dangerous and will handle like garbage. So I had to wait and wait but it was worth it.

ok no more battle.
All I meant about the warranty was they only don't warrant the HP's as low as the dspecs.

You are happy with it, fine I'm glad, all I was trying to get you to stop saying is that its a dspec without the adjuster.

There's so much stupidity here I don't even know what to say

"A good setup will handle good without you feeling every single bump.
more math for you

OEM replacement strut + lowering spring = you feel every bump in the road."

that's funny because my lowered camaro with koni yellows on full soft is a whole lot rougher on my back than my cavalier on Tokico HPs, you clearly don't understand how dampers work. If anything a true performance damper gives you a harsher ride due to the higher compression and rebound rates.

"HP Series = OEM replacement."

Please keep your uninformed opinions to yourself. Keep saying it won't make it so.

let's see, should i listen to some random guy on the internet or oh i dont' know, THE MANUFACTURER?????

This thread is FULL of god damn failure.

To the OP, good luck with the setup! The end result looks great and as I said before, I had blues on my previous car without a single problem.

Well guys here are some updates.Today I went to the eighth mile track, along with my friend john with a 71 ss camaro that he has been building for years(BEAUTIFUL CAR).Justin with a 2000 gmc sonoma, and some other friends who rode with us.IT WAS F++KING GREAT.............I met my goal for the night(10.2)and I beat my friends ss......LOL....not kidding.(here is why)It has a center bolt vortec 350 with LT headers, high lift cam,700cfm edelbrock 4b,true duals with flowmaster 40s dumped and more that I don't know about. The car has some really bad rear end gears,he can stay in first the whole track pretty much.It was out of a smokey and the bandit era trans am.(the rear end)Its posi but it has super highway gears. And I got a 10.284 E.T+2.377 60 foot which was my best, and a .016 RT .I could have done better BUT I had a half tank full of gas+spare and other misc stuff in the trunk+sucky ass wheel hop STILL......Here is pics of the camaro, sonoma, and my car

Split grill FTW.

So its a stock rear in the camaro(as in no aftermarket goodies in it)?

Re: A cavalier christmas(new box of goodies)
Sunday, January 04, 2009 3:00 PM
Yes just a stock posi rear end out of a 6.6L trans am ,with a turbo 350 trans. His camaro also has a turbo 350 with b&m shift kit with a hurst shifter. The car from factory was indeed a SS car with all the goodies. It came with a 396c.i engine with a hurst 4-speed manual. When he bought it about 6 years ago it was just a shell,it was sitting for a long time.when he painted it a year ago someone took out his passenger front fender and headlight bucket, front nose piece and a bunch of other damage. He did have a 4 inch cowl hood on it but that also was destroyed,so now he has the 2 inch cowl and new body pieces. If he had some 3:73 or 4:11 gears he would probably be in the high 8's or better. His best run of last night was a 9.7.Here is a pic of the interior.and what it looked like before the wreck+some recent ones on a foggy morning, and one with some high dollar 19's.Enjoy.
