No, it's unfinished fiberglass. Not quite done yet with that, just wanted to get some pics of the gauge and tach in their homes.

Try .1575 for a max over bore. These puppies can go all the way to 90mm, 3.5433in. Stock being 86mm, 3.3858in.

One more thing, I didn't have to pull it and strip it, c'mon Brad you know I've got ecotecs just layin around my garage begging for some use. I had one that was almost completely stipped, I just had to pull the balance shafts out and take the girdle off it.

Funny thing is it's actually gotten better. I only kept the stuff that will eventually get used.

the pillar gauge looks out of place Curtis. i know it may temp, just hope you don't go w/ it. do you need a new bezel to reconstruct? where'd the turbo timer go? looks like you have to widebands (cig lighter and dimmer). or is that an illusion?

Turbo timer was moved over to the other side, under where the dimmer used to be. Wideband is where it always has been, cig lighter. The thing that looks like a gauge is a hollowed out gauge w/ my push button start in it. The spot where the timer used to be will be filled in the next couple weeks with a Greddy Profec B Spec II.

sneak preview:

i just received a picture message, thought i might share....

mr skunk is going to see his nephew, so he wont be on til later, so i'm doing a little update for him.

the block isnt done yet, its a little warped so the guy is gonna flatten it, but skunkie will have it tomorrow.

Re: Upgrades for 09

Thanks Ben, here's the pic taken from my camera...

As stated the block is warped .002 in one section right in between cyl 2 and cyl 3, the machinist said it's not that big a deal he can deck it and have it to me tomorrow morning. Which is quite early considering I'm waiting for my main studs, main bearings and rear main seal to arrive yet. All of which have been ordered. He has not done the final hone yet either. All of this will be done and I'll have it home tomorrow with pics from all different sides.

Well the machinist gave me a call about 4pm sayin it was done and I'm going to pick it up tomorrow.

Just Kidding...

There's only so many angles you can take pics of a bare block from lol. I'm excited to the enth degree at this point. I'm waiting on main studs. The bearings and rear main shipped today, just got the confirmation email. Soon, very soon, this thing will be in the car.

Looks nice, can't wait for more updates! If you don't mind me asking, what did the shop end up charging you for the install?

Lanman31337 -F = fatties = do not want. A little chunk in the junk is ok though.

Re: Upgrades for 09

It was $560 total, because the block was .002 from not being perfectly flat. If not for that it would have only been $500.

Sweet, Im seriously considering doing this for the second stage of my Turbo build, 500 aint too bad for a machined/sleeved block.

Skunk- Have fun with that bad ass engine.

Re: Upgrades for 09

I think what excites me the most is that even I really can't do anything to hurt this puppy now.

Don't forget you still have to buy the sleeves too. I did a little rough guessing as to how much my motor/turbo setup is last night, I stopped when I eclipsed $5,000 and still had more stuff to consider.

I have faith in you.

I forgot to ask you the other night, do you have any spare L61 injector cups laying around?

Sorry no spare head spacers for injectors.

Here's where I await the rest of my parts...

Pulled the head to gain access to the rest of my parts that will soon reside in my new block. Only have one engine stand so the car is acting as my other stand.

The nice pile of parts that is the aftermath of pulling the head...

The aftermath under the hood...

A block with head studs

Finally opened up my clutch that has been sitting in my trunk since last fall...

And we've got some clevite rod bearings, a head gasket, and the rings that I gapped today.
