i'm trying hard to be at the bash, i just put in for the time off, so i'll know monday. I'm really not supposed to work on my motor on the clock, but i was able to all day friday and my boss was totally oblivious. At several points in the day i had all the techs standing around my motor and at the end of the day i thought my boss was going to fuss at me for it, but he asked me how long my car was going to be sitting in his parking lot with no motor in it, and had no clue my motor was in the shop. nice eh.

i couldnt really touch it saturday because we were slammed with work, but all i need to do is put on the cam towers, the timing chain housing, set timing, put on the timing cover, and reinstall the oil pan and i should be good to drop it back in.

but yeah, i do have a thread in mid-east for the VA caravan to the bash... and i'm trying to meet up with Jeffie about 50 miles till the bash

my boss became an issue saturday, but it will go in tomorrow (monday) ... all i have to do is relocate three bolts on the timing chain cover (the studs) and then torque them all down, put the motor on an engine hoist and off the stand and put the top to rear main seal housing bolts on, and torque them, and install flywheel/clutch/pressure plate. then i need to modifiy the fuel rail for the LSJ injectors.... then we're good to drop.

heres some more pics of the MD Alt pully after powder coat.

god i want to kill my boss and quit my job...

He said "You cannot use the shop to put your motor in until saturday. You are more than welcome to do it anytime during the week as long as you do it outside and do not use the shop's air" What a douche... he wants to power trip and show that he has power and its really screwing things up...

i modified the fuel rail and got the injectors in... but now im stuck for a whole week... =(

if you want aftermarket and not dead set on an RK rail, OEM currently makes them...

well hopefully we'll get to start tomorrow night and finish up saturday on the drop in... heres some more pics

in the process of putting on the timing chain cover, two holes were wallowed out on the timing housing, one on the cover and one where the oil pan meets the housing .

so i bought two bolts one size bigger and tapped the holes and torques the new bolts down.
then i took some teaser shots.
