its works well though, good choice.

Will do, thanks.

It was $134.46 shipped from RockAuto. I need to get them on quick, mine are shot, lol.

How's the ride with the KYB's? A friend of mine is selling a set. I'm thinking of buying them off him.

AGX's aren't installed yet, still need to buy the Pro-kit before everything gets installed. Right now I'm on GR-2's.

More progress...
Finished polishing the fuel rail, and waxed it so hopefully it won't start corroding anytime soon.
Shiny
Injectors all cleaned up with new O rings
Injectors, AFPR and Gauge all installed
And after a royal pain in the ass, finally installed and working on the car...
I've actually richened it out a bit more than it was in that picture, better safe than sorry until I get a wide band.
It also seems that the old FPR was running about 5psi lower than it should have been, I can already tell that it pulls harder from 5-6000rpm, where it used to just fall flat on it's face.

Looks great....note though, tucking that CPS sensor wiring behind the rail looks better

.
Yeah I thought of that as I was installing it, and then got worried that it would get too hot back there.
Thanks though

very nice, tim. looks so much better.
Some new information on the start up hiccup I've been having. Stopped by and talked to my Dad's high school friends, who just happen to also be mechanics, with lots of specialty tools, that they like to loan me
$900 baby oil burner, hahaha...
And with the help of the leak detector, I found out that I have a leak at my intake manifold gasket, which would explain quite a few symptoms. So, possible gasket replacement this weekend.
Pro-kit will be here Wednesday, and the same mechanics are letting me use their pneumatic spring compressor Friday afternoon, so I should have the springs mounted to the struts Friday afternoon, and in all likely hood they will be going on the car as soon as I get home with them.
Also in the plans for this weekend...
All I have left to pick up is about 6 feet of 4awg wire, two marine posts, an in line fuse and some sheet metal to fab up a mounting bracket. I might have some sheet metal laying around though... I need to go check...

ohhhh..... ahhhh i like that leak tester. how much was that? ten grand? LOL
SWEET, a batt relocation! no more 50 bend intake!
(hehe, might want to just swap the cams and new 'part' on this weekend while doing that intake gasket

)

We all need somebody to believe in something...
Well they told me to quote "don't drop it, it's like $900", so I've been careful, hahaha.
I'm looking forward to the battery relocation for the simpler intake, and the weight shift. Once I realized how cheap I could do it, and that I was pretty much already all wired for it, I figured what the hell, might as well just go for it.
Cams have to wait, do it right, do it once

This was delivered at about 9am today... it made for a very long day at work....
But it was worth it

Last night I trimmed the bump stops, I'm not real impressed with Moog's strut bellows design...
Man... it's been quite a day though...
Started off by putting some 1/2" ID clear vinyl hose on the ends of the spring coils so stop them from rattling, ran out of hose, then had to run back to the hardware store for more, it was a pain in the ass, but I think it will be worth it in the end.
I always thought the Pro-Kit was just powder coated black, I had no idea there was a nice metal flake in it...
Then... I find this....
Turns out UPS must have dropped the box on it's end, smashing the adjuster on the top of the strut, and jamming the adjuster in. Pretty much ruined the whole @!#$ strut... I was livid... so off to UPS I went to bitch, only to find out that the UPS Store =/= UPS, and they couldn't do anything. So I called customer service to put a claim in, we will see what happens.
3 out of 4... why the hell not?
Rear drivers side...
Old Rear GR-2's...
My mess...
Old Front GR-2's...
Rear Passenger side...
Front Drivers side...
These damn nuts were ridiculous to get off... I picked the dam car off of one stand trying to get the passenger side off, and the rear lower mounts wouldn't budge without heat...
Ugh... it's been a long day...
500 miles, then I can start to play
Passenger front tower...
And unfortunately what I had to settle for until UPS forks up some money, definitely not long term, just to get me back on the road...
I'm in love with this car again, I have 1/4 as much body roll as I had, and because of the new mounts, and the spring silencers, there are no more clunks, rattles and bangs every time I hit a bump. I can't wait to get off the snow tires and onto something with some sidewall support. Man can this car slalom now...
And after the first turn...
Before and after pics once the springs have a few days to settle, I'm liking where the front end is sitting, it settled at least 1/4" after driving it for about 10 miles, but the back still has a ways to go.

I'm really liking the progress here! I think I would have waited on the fourth strut though. Now you will have to work in a brand new strut after your others are already broken in. I'm not sure this is even a real problem, just something I would have done. Nevertheless, I will be checking back for progess

keep up the good work!
* * BIG FOR SALE POST * *
Yeah I really thought about waiting for it, but I was so hyped up to get the damn things finally on that I just had to go through with it. Not to mention the front mounts were blown.
I wish I didn't have to do it, but that's life...
I can knock off about 500 miles in a week if I try, I don't think I'll have a problem breaking them in
Buddy of mine just rebuilt his H22A4, and he needs 500 miles of going easy on his new clutch before he can push it, so we're going to go on a couple nice cruises. Hell, it's supposed to be 70 tomorrow, I'm going to be out driving, that's for sure.
Thanks a lot man, I appreciate it.

#2 port, it's carb cleaner you see down in the ports...
#3 port
#4 port
Everything apart
And the new oil separator vacuum line setup
Gasket
All clean and assembled... Now with TWO bolts...
It's getting there....

BAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAAHAlove the shocked pic
sucks about that front strut being damaged, id be livid as well. amd good call on the plastic hose for the coils, although... i just cant quite understand why the pro kit springs dont come with that already, my sportlines did.
ps, use an air chisel to get those front bolts out. for those ten seconds or less.... the bolts are free.

We all need somebody to believe in something...
man! i want a 3rd gen z sooo bad
Looks like you farted and were surprised by the smell...LOL.....nice work..wish i had a garage to work in....they make life a bit easier.

I'm liking the progress on your car. For the engine bay all you really need to do, as far as I can see, is to polish up or spray the valve cover and clean out that coolant reservoir then it would really look good with that polished fuel rail cover. If I can find a new summer car this year we'll have to meet up for a cruise or something.
