My Toyota gas lid mod.
Tuesday, April 06, 2010 1:06 AM
i just wanted to share with you all what i did with my Cavalier

this is what it looks from inside the wheel well.

this is inside the trunk

this last part is what i use to open the latch. it comes on some cavs but it is used to open the trunk.

so as you can all see i drilled a hole, roughly 35 mm. I also used a 2004 cavalier gas housing it has a tap to stop the lid so it can be flush with the body.

This is actually exactly the same way I was thinking to do this mod. However, I was just going to make my own yota style cover, but that is sick, love it.

Just adding some stuff I'm getting soon from Japan.
first thing is a Blitz exhaust system, which basically looks like this
here is the rest of the stuff.
Enkei RPF1 16x8 35 mm offset 5x100

T.R.D reclinable seats 2 of them.

T.R.D Cavalier front hood Badge really rare, I'm getting 2

I'm Getting more red Emblems I have a set but these are used and i rather use these on my car.

Other things I already have are: whole T.R.D kit / not a copy that's including the eye lids, Toyota folding mirrors. Tail Lights, T.R.D Leather steering wheel and shift knob. Toyota head lights, Toyota trunk carpet and Toyota wheel cover carpet. I'll post pics of my car when I get back from Virginia in Sept. I wont get these Items until June. So ill be gone.

The TRD seats were an option you can buy after for any Toyota Vehicle. It is Period correct, they where sold around the same time the Toyota Cavalier was around. This is just the Toyota stuff I have listed, Other mods include suspension such as IRS swap, I Have Tein upper mounts and Koni Shocks which i want to have re valved I also have the wilwood big brake kit and Wilwood rear parking brake calipers. many other things. ill try to take pics soon.

where did you get the logo for the trd. i would like to get one since i will be having a RHD toyota cavalier

I look around and I have a contact person that can get me things from Japan. Like Steve( AKA THE HATED ONE) said, the TRD logos are hard to get. That is very true, I

still haven't received any of this stuff I posted not until maybe next month, but I'll be gone, to Virginia. Wont be back till Sept. It took me forever to source out some Toyota parts due

to the fact that GM discontinued some part numbers and Toyota wont sell you the parts, they got really strict on selling JDM parts. You would have to go as far as filling out a

waiver. Though you can get TRD parts but That logo or any of the TRD logos are discontinued. Lucky if you find one. Before the Cavalier I was a Huge Toyota Fan I still am, I had a

72 Celica that I regret selling. Thats the reason I chose the Cavalier. Something Unique. I know Steve has a real one. Really nice. I just want mine to have all the Toyota parts

without making it RHD and give it that TRD look. thats my goal. There is much more im doing just not the looks. IRS Conversion, Wilwoood rear Calipers and front, Koni shocks

re-valved, Individual Throttle bodies is a maybe, I have them in my possession. Adjustable cam gears belt driven not chain. The thing for me is picking where to start.

Why would you waste all the money shipping a set of RPF1's from japan when they make them in indiana?

13.1 @ 115
Re: My Toyota gas lid mod.

RPF1 are 16x8 5x100 35mm offset, that size isnt offered in their preset catalog, they used to be in the older catalog so there isnt much of that size around anymore. and they only cost 500 dollars. i was not looking for 17s or anything bigger, I wanted the stock size but wider.
