was on my way to work when it started acting up and i kept trying to add fuel thru the haltech but it still wanted to lean out and kept dying about 15 times on the way once i made it to base it was 25mph from there and the only way i could keep the car running was to keep the rpms up around 4500 then i parked it and replaced the pump today. at this point idc whats wrong with it ill fix it when i get back.

Well number 1 rod bearing was destroyed the oil smelled like straight gas. I'm trying to see if I can buy a replacement rod or see if the machine shop can machine them and the crank. Get everything rebalanced and assembled so that asa I get back I can install the engine

New crank should be in any day now and Ill be ordering a new set of rods and the zzp block towards the end of my deployment. Ill have the wife drop the block, crank, rods and pistons of at the machine shop to get it all balanced and assembled so that asa i get home it can go in the car then trailer it to a local shop to get tuned.

well guys pretty much giving up on the car i have no goals except to get it back together and whatever hp and track times it makes is what itll be. there has been some things that have just discouraged me and frankly has made me lost interest in it. started with a local shop porting my head and quoting me at 900 for a race port i paid them 350 down back in september and they said it would take a couple of weeks. in the mean time i traded them my old turbo and some other parts for the fuelab pump and money knocked off the porting. well as some of you may know the fuelab pump failed and lead to me spinning a rod bearing. after notifying the shop bout the fuel pump they said damn that sucks and i asked them what the final price was gonna be on the head and they told me it was gonna be 850 on top of the 350 i already gave them totalling 1200. since im deployed im having my wife go to the shop on monday demanding all my parts and money back since they still arent done with the head after 7 months. so between them bumping the price up instead of lowering it from my trade ins and giving me a crap fuel pump that caused me to spend another 400 on a new pump and also 2 grand to get my bottom end back together im pretty well fed up with the car. on top of all of this im gonna have to pay someone else to finish the porting.

Step back, breathe. let it sit... dont get burned out on it and just say good bye. I can get you a head, not sure how far the port and polish is on the head you have now but M2 can take care of you and get it all fixed up. Its what myself, and Fetter are both running. Was about $1200 out the door. It doesnt have to be done today or tomorrow so as long as you take your time, find the right people to work with it will come together. I SMELLED my car the other day and knew how worth it that it will be. whether its racing or driving it!

send your head to M2. Tell him I sent you and you might still be able to get 10% off. If you send your valvetrain, cams, and whatever... its about $1300.

I'm sorry to hear about the bad luck. I haven't had anything that bad go down, knock on wood, and I have been tempted to take the loss and walk away from this platform more then once over the years. But in the end I am glad I stuck with it and my motor isn't even done yet! Looking forward to updates!

well had some more misfortunes with the engine lol bought a block off of css and had it shipped to ZZP and when they looked it over they found the #3 cylinder was cracked so i emailed the guy i bought it from and he sent another one out to replace the bad one. Now the crappy part is that UPS somehow managed to lose the block the guy filed a claim with ups and zzp is also trying to locate the block since its last tracking update was Wyoming Michigan then says tracer not found ?????? So hopefully the block shows up if not the guy is going to pay me bck and ill just get another block. Still waiting to hear back from a local machine shop on prices to balance and assemble the bottom end so that it will be ready for me to drop in when i get home. That's it for now
