Watching this, Very interested to see how the BW Snail turns out!

As far as the spring pockets, I have heard for every 1000RPM above stock rev limit to allow 0.050" for valve movement. So that stock clearance number may need to be opened up slightly.

I know the LAP uses the same cylinder head as the LE5 does. So I wonder if to make up for the compression loss from the larger CC's of the LE5 combustion chamber they added the bump in the piston.

Regardless, anyone looking to build a high compression L61, this would be a cheap way to do it.

Very true as im selling all the internals out of this engine if anyone wants them

You still have these? Will it work with the l61 crank and such.

cool beans. I was also interested in your s10 radiator setup. I know it was for a 2.2, but did it just bolt in and fit?

Those are 9:1 pistons? They look to have a significant dome to them!

I think the valve reliefs are playing a trick of perspective on you... Look at the edge of the piston around the top of what looks like a "dome". They're dished, the valve reliefs just make it look like a dome.

JerseyJay and Newt are talking about the pistons on page 3. You referred us to the ones on page 2? I'm confused?

It's a bit difficult to tell from the blurry picture on page 3, but if you google some images of the JE piston, you can see the subtle fillets (not chamfers, but fillets) where the "top land" lies in relation to the centre of the piston head, and where the valve pocket reliefs meet the centre of the piston head. This pic should clear up any confusion.

anyway, Cavi2sunfire, good luck with the build!
Which crank trigger are you using with the Haltech?
