We will be dealing with the cooling system today, aswell as the clutch and a bunch of other things, then its onto interior wiring. NOT looking forward to that! lol

Wow love it !! No thanks on the wiring lol. But the firewall plugs are nice

Re: Leona's winter makeover thread.

Well we didnt get much done since we had to cut it short today.
So we had a temp wire running from the battery to the fuse block inside the car. Stupid me close the door on it and grounded it out, this was the result...

Yeah yeah, I know, dumbass move. But coming to the front of my car to see it smoking everywhere and the plastic insulation melting all over my fenders and @!#$ was a little nerve wrecking.
So I have 25ft of 8 gauge wire coming in tomorrow.
Couple new things.
2 core radiator with dual 12 inch spal fans.

Direct from McMoney, polished rear cam tower side cover.

We are taking the weekend off, so updates next week.

Those two duels are overkill lol, I have one of those Spals and it does the trick. BUT, you can never have too much cooling mods

Im doing ALOT to keep this engine cool. Its set to a pretty low temp for the fans to come onand they stay on for 4 minutes after the car is shut off, dual core rad, 2 fans, Im thinking about getting rid of the t-stat, if not, I will drill it. I also have alky injection to keep the intake charge cool.

Why? Seems all over kill. My car with 131k stock water pump, stock radiator, stock stat runs just fine.

Meh, can never be too careful. I probably wont get rid of the T stat. I want it to atleast get to operating temp. lol

Do tell how your gonna keep the fans running after the car cuts off. I wouldnt mind doing that.

My ECU doesnt control my fan anymore, I have it on a switch to turn it on and off whenever I want.

That can be adjusted with HPT, but if your fan is not connected to the ECU, you might not be able to.

Yeah dude, done right through HPT. Had it that way since I got the car.

Re: Leona's winter makeover thread.

its a setting in the psm i believe factory there set to 210F which almost never does a car hit 210 atleast when getting shut off. its set buy HPT but i believe it can also be commanded on by TECH II at the dealer if your fans are not control by the PCM then you will need to wire in a timer relay.

i have an 180 drilled stat in my car and i have my fans to run for 2 minutes if the car is over 185. i set mine there because factory my engien was get with a 195F stat so being 180 drilled its more then plenty

i wouldn't bother with the Meth darren on the M45 its not goona be as effective pre charger and for what other cooling mods you have i think your fine. you may just end up eating the teflon coating off the rotors on that supercharger. personally not worth it

there has to be a spot at the bottom of the charger that you can drill and tap to install the meth nozzel after the blower if its drilled and tapped right you will have no issues and if you want to delete it you can just get a bolt to thread in and being its on the bottom no one will see it

if you runn it before your goona just heat it during the pressurization

Im NOT drilling this charger. No matter what cooling mods I have, NONE of them will cool down IAT's, thats what the Meth is for.

Re: Leona's winter makeover thread.
Thursday, August 04, 2011 7:54 PM
Yeah from the factory GM commands the fan on at 223. I dropped mine to 210.

Meth pre charger is SOOOOOO WORTH IT!!!!! Best thing you can do!!!

Just use a TB spacer for the meth, do not spray pre TPS.
