Does ANYONE have these pics? I desperately need pics of the 2.3L power steering pump on the 2.4L.

this is the only pics i have for now:

this is where the little custom bracket pictured lower goes

here you can see the stock bracket near the power steering. this is the one in the next pics in blue. this one just bolts on

now i dont remember why i cut it at an angle, i think its for the exhaust manifold clearance...

i will have more pics of the set up mounted when i built the engine again within the next few weeks.
...and sorry for taking so long before posting pics =/

So is that little bracket you made the only custom work that had to be done to make the 2.3L power steering pump work? All the other bolt holes lined up? Did you use the 2.3L power steering lines, and did they have the same size fitting that hooks to the rack?

almost lol! the only other thing that needs to be done is to hook up the line to the pump. i dont remember exactly, i just remember i went to a shop with my old pump line (the parts that bolts to the pump in "U" shape) and ask him to make it straight because on the 2.3 pump, the line hook up on the back and on the 2.4 pump, it hook up on the front. fitting are the same size. so once the "U" shape parts is straight, it just bolts to the 2.3 pump and your line. easy as that.... much less complicated than getting the cam machined for the hex AND have the housing machined for the lifters.
all other bolts hole lined up perfectly

Okay, I am somewhat confused. Did you use the 2.3L power steering pressure and return lines or the 2.4 lines?

I just realized that you are using the 086 head. Does the PS pump bolt to the head at all? Because I am using a 2.4L head and 2.4L block...

I know this is extremely old, but did you use the old thermostat style system with the 086 head, or did you keep the current thermostat style system from the 96+ LD9's, with the 086 head?

I've done it both ways. Thermo in head, and thermo down by water pump.

I personally like it down below. How many LD9's have over heating issues vs. Q4's?

SPD RCR Z - '02 Z24 420whp
SLO GOAT - '04 GTO 305whp
W41 BOI - '78 Buick Opel Isuzu W41 Swap
