OK,

I've been slacking on this.

Updates:

-Turbo is at the rebuild shop
-The rest of my misc. parts arrived this morning

Also test fit and clearanced the intake manifold to fit my LSJ head and opened up the tiny ass ports on the turbo manifold best I could to the gasket. The pipes were welded off center to the ports, so I can't port out the top of the ports without cutting into the pipe, so I did the best I could.

Hopefully get the car in the air this week and start pulling parts off/putting parts on.

Looks to me like there was an exhaust leak on runners 2 & 3???
You might want to get the flange machined flat again.

Ya not sure what the deal is with the blueing on #2&3, I straight edged the flange and its true.

Maybe it was left over from when it was welded together, the surface as definitely already been milled once, so the flange could of wrapped when it was welded and it was milled true again.

PJ - I know, I know.....for the price I got this @!#$ for, I couldn't pass it up.

bluing doesn't look like a leak to me... if it was leaking that would be BLACK with soot from the exhaust.

Dave, I don't blame you goin boost man.. the $ to horsepower ratio is unbeatable.

now there really is no reason for me to be all motor anymore

Just picked up the intercooler from the welders, one of the mounting tabs was starting to crack.

Picked up a free 3" exhaust off my buddies old 2nd Gen Cav that I'm going to modify to fit my car, saves me a few hundred bucks.

Also, talked to the turbo rebuilder yesterday, the journal bearing was shot it got plugged up, so he is going to change that out for me and also probably put on a bigger compressor wheel, says the one on there will barely get me to 400whp, so with the new one I'll have some wiggle room if I want to go higher.

I'll be in the shop tonight, and hopefully start getting parts on the car.

Your staying with the stock 2.4 correct?

Going to see how far you can push it?

Are you having Cherry rebuild the turbo? He likes those bigger compressor wheels on everything hahaha.

Well I managed to get some work done this weekend, unfortunately Saturday was spent at a wedding and Sunday was spent looking at street bikes, so I didn't get nearly as much accomplished as I wanted to.

Got my header out, which is a job in itself, considering it involves dropping the subframe....which gets interesting when doing it with one person.

Got the front bumper off and intercooler bolted up.

Oil feed for the turbo hooked up.

This is how it sits now.

I also moved some wires around for the TB relocation, Intake manifold can go on anytime now, just waiting to get the rest of it installed so I don't scratch the @!#$ out of the paint.

Boost gauge is mounted, just need to wire it in and run the lines.

Old exhaust is cut off to make way for my new 3" stuff.

So its damn close, really just finish up a few little things left, would really help if I had the turbo in hand so I can finish up the exhaust and a few other bits...I hate doing @!#$ twice....lol

Hopefully get the meth kit installed this week/finish up the boost gauge install/remove washer tank to make way for charge pipes/modify fuel rail to plum in the extra rail.

Jeff- Yes, Cherry Turbos is rebuilding it. The wheel that is on there right now is damaged he said, there is a chance he can fix it....but why take the chance, especially if it is "too small" to begin with.

Well progress has been slow this week, I just picked up a new toy...

So I've been busy running around getting that sorted out.

I'll be back at the car this weekend, expect updates then

Well got a bit more done last night.

Finally got my turbo back (obligatory picture next to a beer can for size reference)

Also got my boost gauge installed (yes I can still see the speedo)

I got a few more odds and ends done, next step is to get the block taped for oil return and I can start getting @!#$ on the car.

not sure if youre bully stage 3 will do the task of what youre going to put down, all depends on your torque but you might be close

Turbo spec's again?I might have missed it. Also, what size is that turbo drain line? you want as big as you possibly can get... A lot of problems dont come from lack of feed, it comes from lack of ability to drain it all out. I have -3 feed but -10 drain i think... Might want to look into that.

DSMskyline - Yup it fits surprisingly.

LAFNGAS - I know, I'm slightly concerned about the clutch holding up, but only time will tell....so lets hope it does.

BuiltNBoosted - I'll have to get back to you on the turbo specs, I forgot to get them from the re-builder. As for the drain line, I'm going with 1/2" ID hose, according to the turbo re builder that should be fine since its such a straight, short shot from the turbo back to the pan.
