yea, still got the 1.5" space on each side, so 3" total in the rear.

if I reduced the negative camber up front, the fronts would poke a bit as well. The tires aren't rubbing in the rear, so I'm leaving it alone for now. However, I may bring them in by a 0.25-0.50" on either side, I'm still not sure yet.

You should try something new and go in 1/4" on the driver side and 1/2" on the passenger side... You could start a new trend! Loving the car BTW, keep it up!

racepak is a great company. pricey stuff, but you get what you pay for. customer service is good as well.

I was originally going to go with SPEK gauges, but their customer service was garbage and I decided to spend my money elsewhere.

The non-logger version of the IQ3 is a bit expensive, but compared to buying individual gauges, it was cheaper in the long run, and also a nice clean install.
Vnet is very convenient, and adding sensors is extremely simple (programming them can be a bit trial-and-error tho, but it's easy to do... maybe 20 minutes if you're totally confused about what settings to use).

every car I build from now on, I want to use the IQ3 dash.

Nice touch that the Vband outlet for the wastegate is on the exhaust housing

decided to ditch the L61 ignition.

wa-bam.

LSJ coil-on-plug ignition. factory j-body electronics.

what what.

got a new valve cover, and some stuff to make a new ignition cover so I can pretty it up a bit.

bought an 8-pin connector.
cut the stock connector off the LSJ coil harness
cut the stock connector off the J-body ignition
jumped a few wires, pinned the new connector

other than putting the new connectors on, it's plug and play.

they're wired in wasted spark.. but the LSJ coils have the ignitor/ ICM step-up built into the coil itself. Give them the 5v triggers coming from the PCM and they take care of the rest.

Wonder if this could be made to work on an LD9

thanks for the kind words gents!

if anyone was interested...

Jbody ICM connector

Cobalt SS LSJ ignition wiring layout

Coil 1 connector (all the same except for the colors on pin B. easy to figure out by looking at the wires.

Coils 1 and 4 get wired to IC timing control on the jbody ICM
Coils 2 and 3 get wired to IC timing control B on the jbody ICM
power to power
ground to ground AND low reference
you lose the cam signal

done and DONE.

Sweet thanks! Cant wait to see this thing come together more. Did you ever decide what your doing with the squirrel?

right now, skwirl is on hold.

I have a couple ideas for the direction of the car, but unsure which I want to do/ attempt.

as unfortunate as it sounds, scrapping it is a possibility.

correct me if im wrong but if you do the coil swap you will get a CEL which can be turned off in HPT right

yup, because the CSI circuitry is built into the ICM.

when you remove the ICM, the logic used to generate the cam signal goes with it, so you'll get a CEL.

disable with HPT, and you're fine. the car will still run normal, you just lose sequential injection below 3000rpm... which is mostly a MPG thing and barely noticeable

I'm not sure.

I know a few L61 ignition cars have made some serious power, but L61 cassettes seem kinda... sketchy at times.

LSJ coils are cheap, easy to find, and are used on some serious high power cars.

the only thing is troubleshooting may be a bit of a pain because since they're wired in wasted spark, if one coil goes bad you won't be able to diagnose it without shuffling the coils around a few times.

I just did it mostly to clean up under the hood, but this is better than having the L61 cassette just jammed in there and held down by the ignition cover IMO.
