fter the unfortunate demise of my 99 Z24, I went out and bought another J. I picked up an 03 LSS in lovely yellow.

The car seemed to be a virgin, looks like it had never been touched. Was completely stock when I bought it.

There is evidence of some hail damage on the roof and ither upper body panels. I plan to fix all that and two tone the top half of the car black(most likely).

The car needs a little work overall but for the price, I couldnt pass it up. There were worse cars that they wanted more for.

I started off by doing maintanence on the car to make sure it is running as best as possible, then started doing some basic mods. I replaced the nasty stock headlights with some new ones, swapped over the struts and springs, and added a k&n wai. I received a b&m shift plus today and will be installing it in the next couple days. A pacesetter header will also be going on here pretty quick.

congrats on getting back in a J. I am also curious as to the path you will now take with your pre-00 parts.

The motor, transmission, and wiring will all be pulled and stored in the garage. The car was swapped to 01 wiring last year to allow easier tuning for the turbo.

The turbo parts may go on the yellow car if i decide to go that route.

As for now, unless the right offer for the complete motor comes along, i dont plan to part any of it.

I am currently searching around for deals on eco internals though. Just in case.

Sitting in a box in the garage. Full bumper to bumper harness and 2 digital odometer clusters and pcm.

Kept it all in case i needed it again for some reason. Doesnt look like i will be needing it though.

I may have an interested party in the built ld9.

No current plans of selling the lip. I just may swap to the 00-02 z front with the ww lip again. Not sure yet. The fogs went on the yellow car as the other ones were a little pitted and didnt look right with the new headlights.

Small update, spent the afternoon doing some changes in the interior. Was really getting sick of the stock radio with its non functional cd player. I rarely listen to the regular radio, most of the time I use pandora.

Decided while i was swapping out the radio, i would also swap out the dash. Took about 3 hours to pull the dash and put in the new one swap out a couple other trim pieces, my 01 bcm that i have keyless entry remotes for, cleaner cluster, and doing the relearn procedure like 5 times.

I didnt grab a before picture with everthing assembled but i have one partially disassembled.

Ill have to show an assembled picture tomorrow as ot got dark and my phone died.

Its amazing how a car can have 150k miles one minute and 69k miles the next. I forgot the bcm holds the mileage.

Hopefully this weekend the car will receive the trailing arm from the red car which jas an addco rear sway bar, jeffie trailing arm bushings, and saturn rear disc swap.

Also need to get my ga control arms modified and installed.

Got a picture of the dash installed. Its still dirty in the picture go it looks a little off. The dash was tan and i painted it flat black like w years ago so it is fading a little.



Also got around to swapping the rear trailing arm on the car so i now have the addco rear sway bar installed and the saturn rear discs installed. Trailing arm also has teh jeffie traiking arm bushings installed.







The entire car is still dirty. Have yet to take car of that but not worried about it yet. Rims will probably be painted black next weekend. I really hate the chrome.

very nice! im jealous of you LSS guys more and more... you should plastidip that front lip black in the center area, and the rear part too in the middle (like a fake diffuser).

More slow progress. Thanks to a fellow org member, i am now the owner of a le5 manifold, rksport upper motor mount, and a rksport ud pulley. Still undecided if i will run the pulley but i have it just in case.

I will eventually get all the parts i now have for it on but i have to get this damn car through a smog test first. Car will ne fine for a couple days, no cel, no pending codes and them bam up pops the light. Ive dealt with a p0453, dropped the tank and fixed that. Then came the p0420, fixed that and went nearly a week. Planned to run car after work today and up popped the cel just as i pull into the parking lot at work today. I have yet to run the code to see what it is this time.
