I'm just getting started, and need a bit of advice. I have some photos that I would like to have printed, and am trying to detail all of the steps involved with prepping the images for printing at a Trade printer (most likely in LA). I've looked for books that detail each step, but haven't really found one. I'm getting bits and pieces from online articles, but would really prefer a step by step guide. So far, I basically have: apply the printer's equipment profile, then adjust image accordingly; sharpen last; size image to size of print; res of 300 or 360; 16 bit color Adobe RGB (if allowed); flatten image; export as TIFF; attach color profile.
Any suggestions of where to look for more info? Being on a little rock in the middle of the pacific, its a bit tough to visit trade printers, attend a photographic school, or learn by sending out test prints. Hi, and thanks for all input!
