also, my theory with the MSD DIS-2 box being able to do advance... works flawlessly.
I'll post a how-to soon enough for all you ecotec guys out there

it sucks there's so much red under my hood.. some items are bound to be painted/ anodized soon methinks.

nice pics. valve cover looks great.

I want to share something with you - the three sentences that will get you through life. Number one, 'cover for me', Number two, 'oh, good idea, boss', Number three, 'it was like that when I got here.'

Looks good. Whats with the black vinyl tape on the #4 wire? Protection from fuel line?

the elec. tape around the #4 is for the Cam Sync Generator.

It isn't functioning correctly however. Under the tape is a small brown wire that picks up the magnetic field from the #4 plug wire. I would imagine its getting interference so I have to put it closer to the plug itself further down the plug wire. The only downside is an annoying error message in MSD and a CEL so I'm not in a huge hurry to fix it.. in fact I may run without the cam sync altogether.

but with the settings I have on the MSD and HPT, I could run it up to almost any RPM I want with the factory ecu (ignition wise)

the hardcoded fuel limit is still 8192rpm... but now I'll have spark advance the whole time.

I'm going to be writing a full explanation complete with wiring diagram and downloadable MSD and HPT files to run the same setup on any Jbody.

mounting the stuff was the most difficult part.. wiring wasn't that bad just time consuming.

here's the stuff in my setup:

MSD 6212 DIS-2 ignition box
MSD blaster coils (x2)
MSD coil interfaces (x2)
MSD cam sync gen
MSD ecotec distributor plug wires (special order item)

the how to will explain why I did this ignition setup, wiring, and come complete with a laundry list of parts with p/ns

PJ When mine was hooked up we had my cam sync signal as close to the coil pack as possible, we also had ym coilpacks mounted further away from the engine. Food for thought

didnt matt have his wrapped DIRECTLY around the plug boot? i think it jsut needs to be closer to A connection

My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again

Only thing I would like to see is a sparkplug cover to make it look almost stock.

I've been wanting to do this for a while for my nitrous setup. what would you say the major cons and pros are at this time?

Look great though PJ. Cant wait to see some new times and maybe a vid (hint hint)
