twin Weber DCOEs, Carbs.

so is this motor welded up from two others or something? i don't recognise it as an inline six from anyone else.

lol no i dont have this in my possesion nor will i ever im sure. (although it'd be fawking amazing!)

got the pictures from p8ntman on quad 4 forums. he tells of a rumored story that i would quote but Q4F is down right now for the blackout....

he basically said that it was rumored to be a prototype engine gm was working on. this one supposidly made it out the back door and some other guy owns it now. he also said it was made from two quad blocks furnace welded together with custom pretty much custom crank, cams, towers etc.

Looks good, I wonder what it would cost to have some cam towers machines like that.

Be nice to get some better pictures of the block and where it was welded together. Too bad it wouldnt fit in a J, unless it was using the same trans as in the rod.

^^ and RWD hahaha

if you had access to a cnc machine like mcmoney does i bet it'd be cheap to do but if you had to outright pay a shop to make those towers? i bet at least 2 grand. at LEAST.

Anybody else notice the metal water neck? I only wish.

McMoney - if you ended up fabbing up and selling a metal water neck to fit the Quad I'd be right in line to pick up two. So sick of the plastic one....

Interesting. Straight-6 of goodness.
Now does that engine's water-pump is driven by a pulley (like it should be)?

Brad - I was under the impression they didn't bolt up 100% to the LD9 for some reason? That or there isn't a provision for something or other....

It's been a while. I've been hibernating. lol

Besides, we already know that whatever McMoney comes up with will be 400x better than OEM in terms of awesomeness and tolerances while probably taking into account something none of us ever even considered.

So, I'm still on board for that version.

Thats awesome. I was planning at one point of making an eco power 240sx track slut, its years (decades? lol) away and now it may be an I6 eco powered 240 track slut.

I believe he was speaking about the gentleman with the Quad6, Brad.

Nice try baiting me - won't work.

BTW looking at the photos again 2 things jumped out at me - whats with the oil filter area? It's extended and looks to have oil cooler provisions? It looks like he converted to an external wheel for the water pump... what is the pulley for that is at the bottom right corner behind the crank pulley by the oil pan there? Looks like possibly a PS pump?

Very very interesting setup.

Looks like a normal Q4/TC style water pump to me. the extra pulley in front of it appears to be an idler for what looks like a PS pump.
