I have a 2000 Cavalier and recently I spuna bearing. I know a guy that is giving away a 1987 Cavalier with what I believe is the 2.8 F1 engine. Would that fit into a 2000 cavalier, how much modification would I have to do would the transmissions line up. Or should I go another route and sellt he car toa junkyard and maybe get a 2.4 engine from there?

yeah definitely stay away from it. however if the 87 Cavy is a good runner and mechanically sound use it as a dd or sell it or donate it to a charity for a tax write off , no sense in sending a useable car to the junkyard, Obama did enough of that already.
