I'm sure this has been covered many times but I searched it and couldn't find much. What are the differences between the older 2.2's and the newer 2200's? Is one better than the other?

I am no expert, and I'm sure someone else will chime in soon. But if I remember correctly, the 2.2 has side feed injectors and the 2200 has top feed injectors, different coolant passages and a different intake manifold..
