Amount of power to the wheels to get into 13s?
Saturday, April 23, 2005 6:56 AM
Seems like alot of guys lately with 200 to the wheels are able to crack high 13s and those with near 260 seem to be able to crack high 12s. I'm going to be running between 200-220 to the wheels whats the fastest realistically that can run I'm thinking maybe 13.8

yeah very high 13's can be had with even 190whp if your a good driver but seems the normal is around 200whp with 220whp you should be deeper in like 13.8 or 13.7

its all about tuning, traction and driving

@ 1,900 lbs mine runs 13.30's with maybe 200hp at the wheels N/A, and slicks.

Weight, proper suspension parts, and tires will be the keys to your success.

i have alot of heavy ass audio stuff in the car and all the wiring as I am an electronics nut so I have that against me, i will at some point have drag radials it is doubtful i will be able to afford them by the bash, suspension will be fine if the gravana coils ever happen

I pulled a 13.8 with just under 200 WHP and a very traction limited 13.7 with just under 225 WHP. Now that I have dr's, I'll most likely be pulling a 13.3 or better with just about 230 WHP. Of course, I don't have a heavy sound system sitting in the trunk. The trunk is the worst place to have added heft.

i think at 8 or 10PSI with some good drag radials i could pull a 13.6-13.7 EASY. im pulling 13.9-14.1 all day as is with crappy 2.2-2.3 60ft times. if i can get constant 1.9-2.1 60ft times i think im golden for lower 13s

yea ill have the stage I, I have 146/148 to the wheels already running in limp mode from an 02 sensor problem, i'll also have the msd hooked up soon hopefully, even if I can get a measely 60hp from the kit I'll still be around 210, best case scenario maybe 230 but we'll see in the upcoming weeks, Its doubtful I'll have the money for drag radials by the bash, but I've seen alot of ppl cracking 13s with street tires so I know it can be done, I'm going to have to have a mighty strong top end to make up for the lousy 60ft times im going to have
