Factory freak? My best friend's g/f's 04 base ran 15.4 her first time ever at the track, bone stock, with a 2.3 60'.... 15.6 is a decent time for the heavier LS, but its not factory freakish in any way.

Nova, what pressure were you running the tires at? From experience I can tell you rsa's hook up really good on a hard launch at 15 psi after a short burnout (just enough to get a few wisps of smoke). Good for 2.1 second 60' with tire spin on my Beetle.

jay i started out at 22psi in the front and then i dropped then to 19psi in the front. she hooks up hard launching at 4200rpm and i had to heat the tires up like you said just to clean off the old rubber and dirt from the previous run. i think i need to shift into 4th because i was hitting the limiter wayyyyyy before the line

now i have a real base line time to do a cold air box, so it is not sucking in hot engine bay air. and a big 2 1/2" cat back with a header or ported 2.0sc exhaust manifold.

see ya!

15.2 I thought, and that was with the car completely gutted. Doesn't sound freakish to me.

If i have anything to say about it, Mandy's (Lamb of Goddess) car will hit a 14.999 or faster by the BASH.... I'm busting out every cheap/free mod in my book of tricks for this one, lets see where it gets us. 15.2 as of last night, and I definitely think we can shave .21 off with weight reduction and traction mods.Only two, maybe three practice days until the bash though so we need to get cookin...
